Simple answer 1

Well, I live in Bangladesh which is a populous Nation, and traffic jam is a common issue among citizens of my country. There are several times when I got stuck in a traffic jam. How about today I would like to talk about a time when I had a bad experience in jam. It was about 2 months ago when I went to Dhaka to visit some of my friends. When I entered Dhaka there was heavy jam due to the festival season.

No doubt it is common to see traffic in festival months but on the day was recorded crowd. As Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh, that is why it is very crowded because many peoples from all around the country came to Dhaka for their business purposes. I was travelling there by bus, so changing routes was very difficult for us as it was a heavily crowded route. And I clearly remember that it was a hot summer day in the AC of the bus was not working properly.

Passing my time sitting on the bus started to get very difficult for me, and to divert my mind I started playing a game on my mobile. In that way, I have tried to busy myself. I had to wait around 3 hours in the traffic jam. I completed my 6 hours journey in almost 9 hours, even without having any food. Honestly speaking I had never seen that long jam in my life. All in all, it was really an irritating experience in the traffic jam.

Sample Answer 2

Well, due to modernisation traffic increases day by day. Nowadays it is quite common for everyone to get stuck in traffic jams as it is the daily reality of busy city life. It can be very stressful and frustrating when on the road. Here I would like to talk about the time when I got stuck in a traffic jam.

It was about a year ago when I went to Dhaka airport to pick up my brother. On the way to the airport, the traffic was huge and there were myriad vehicles on the road, so due to this, we reached there 1 hour late. My brother was waiting for us. That was really an awkward situation for me.

It took around 45 minutes to get rid of the traffic jam. I listen to music during the entire period and waited patiently and was expecting that things would get back to their normal condition.

It was an awful experience. We faced a lot of hurdles and felt restless, especially my brother. I was really frustrated because of the traffic jam which completely ruined our entire day.

Part-3: Follow up Questions and Answer

Describe a time when you were stuck in a traffic jam

1) Are traffic jams common in your country?

Definitely, traffic jams are quite usual in Bangladesh as roads are full of cars buses and trucks. The most significant fracture is the high number of cars. Today companies manufacture a large number of cars and it is pretty easy for people to have one. Another contributing factor is the lake of public transport.

2) Why are cities today facing serious traffic issues?

It is undoubtedly the case that urban areas around the world increasingly suffer from congestion. Many families own two or three cars which increase traffic congestion. Apart from this, people come in search of jobs and education which also is the result of increased traffic. Another cause is the road system. For instance, most of the streets in my city are narrow and few cars can pass through them simultaneously.

3) What can be done to improve traffic conditions in cities?

I think public transportation is the best solution because it is economical as well as reliable. Public transportation is the best way to reduce the number of traffic jams. There are other possible ways to address this problem but using public transportation is clearly the best.

4) Can developing public transport help resolve traffic issues in cities?

Yes, I think it is the only solution at the current time. The government can take steps to make the public aware of public transport which is safe and secure.
