  1. Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products anywhere in the world.

Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Globally, thousands of companies are trading in international market that’s why customers have plethora of choices available in market. Folk can easily buy same product anywhere in the world. Both positive and negative development will be discussed in further paragraphs.

First of all, global market through numerous items , services are available everywhere. People have lot of choices nowadays in every single product with different quality and quantity. Therefore , job opportunities, GDP of country, import exports have been increasing on daily basis. In addition relationships are rising with other countries further we get opportunities to know their culture and learn new things. Let’s clear with illustration, world global market resarchers proove that after globalization in the world there are less chances to make customer fool and also 70% transactions are rose after globalization in international and national market

However, International market brings many benefits for country but there are two things which have negative effect. First, multinational companies product are very expensive which can’t afford lower class and middles class seldomly buy this costly things. Second, many local markets suffering from huge loss because foreign companies capture their market. For example, Macdonald and dominoze destroy local fast food shops and market

In summary, I believe that international market connect countries with eachother and also it’s beneficial for customer , they can easily buy any product anywhere and also their technology development, infrastructure we can easily adopt their things owning to this I deem that is positive development .

    1. Overall, it can be evident that online source of accessing the news in australia nation while, in canada, everyone had preferred television for news.

As per the circular chart, particularly in canada, there were approximately more than forty percent people who were watching the television for getting the news, whereas around 37 proportion of masses who used that mode in Australia . Through the radio medium , about least amount of canadian listened radio , who was seven ration , however in Australia , there were tiny fraction individuals, who heared it.

As per the remaining information in canada, there were about small fraction people, who had little bit interested in printing newspaper rather than citizens of Australia . Surprisingly, over tiny fraction canadian were getting news instead of using these medium .

  2. Car ownership has increased so rapidly over the past thirty years that many cities in the world are now ‘one big traffic jam’.
How true do you think this statement is? What measures can governments take to discourage people from using their cars?

The automobile industry, from the start, came and dominated the field of transport; and, owning a car was considered a trait of being rich and wealthy. However, due to the competition among companies and decreased production cost, cars are being prominently purchased at a higher rate nowadays, consequently, resulting in a ‘one big traffic jam’ as we know it. The below essay illustrate briefly why the phenomenon has come to be.
Without a doubt, automobiles of on the road have risen over the past thirty years and their ownership has increased significantly because of the low prices and rising demand. This private, comfort and luxurious transport system has invited many buyers; but this, cumulatively, build up has resulted in more traffic on the streets. The Prime example being the New York city which becomes deadlocked after seven P.M because of the cars congested on the main highway and streets. To avoid this one major traffic jam, people tend to utilize public transport within the main city rather than bringing their car with them.
Even though traffic buildup is the major drawback of increased car ownership, everyone still need a mode of transportation for reaching their work, home or any other destination. Inevitably, cars will dominate the roads, but I believe that the government has a responsibility in managing their numbers on it. The government’s one chance of bringing down their count is to invest in the public transport sector as India did by building a monorail system for the laborers to travel in and out of the city. Firstly, building new inter-city bus systems and railroad system can, hopefully, decrease the building car troubles, and secondly, encouraging people to utilize this public transport system as well, for instance by levying taxes on private transport. it might prove to be a challenge for incumbent government but still will bring positive results.
To sum it all up, cars, definitely, are going to be roads for a long time until an alternative is provided to the people. Even though, the government is trying their best to overcome the problem by building underpasses and expanding the road width, despite this, more effort are still needed. In the end, proper planning and timely execution is required by the government institutions to deal with the on-going surge in the automobile on the roads.

    1. Some people believe that visitors to other countries should follow local customs and behavior. Others disagree and think that the host country should welcome cultural differences. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

It is generally claim that many travelers like to visit the different places around the world and sometimes these people have suffereded from problem relating to the native culture. Some of the human believe that passenger from the foreign countries should have to mix with native behavior and culture. However, Rest of other group argued that we should have to welcomed themas they are. I will discuss both aspects in further discussion and will give my opinion.

On the one hand, citizens think that the tourists from the other countries have different sort of nature and if they do not change their nature and behavior in native place where they went consequently it will slowly make impacts in local people. Moreover, it can also harm our original rituals and protocols. For instance, the traveler from the western culture has a totally dissimilar style of wearing clothes in compare to Asian countries. Hence, it can indirectly affect on native religions.

On th other hand, some group of thinkers appreciates that as per native we should be accept foreigners with their original style. Because of this, we can get a huge knowledge about their cultures. Furthermore, we get a chance to familiar them and know about other things too. A good illustration of this is if we got travelers belonging to countries like North Korea , Egypt where people can not go because of restrictions still we can get familiar of their customs and add a new memory in our lifespan.

I certainly agree that we must have to welcome our visitors with their real habits. Also, we have to gain our knowledge about various cultures by this.

To rest of the discussion, native people have to get comfortly in contact with our passengers. Also, we keep have to remember our rituals and behavior.

  3. Work from home benefit only employees not employers.
    Do you agree or disagree.
As internet become easily accessible, it become easier for workers to perform their tasks at home. Some individuals believe that this trend is beneficial only for workers not for professional managers.I largely disagree with this statement and describe my views in upcoming paragraphs.
First of all, needless to say that nowadays inflation increased at alarming rate if employees do their work at home rather than visiting office, it saves huge expenditure of organisation. To examplify, one multinational company conduct survey from well developed organisations who assign tasks online to their emloyees. The result of the survey showed that these companies earned 53%more profit than those organisations who prefer to invite their workers at office. Secondly, many individuals have skills to organise any company but they do not have enough amount of money to establish their business. In case of online business people easily run their organisation because there is no any requirement to build any building to pursue the business.
On the flip side, there is one drawback of doing business online as employees perform work at home but it is not sure that tasks are performed by the assigned workers. To illustrate, sometimes women become the part of organisations but due to the household work they may assign their duty to other family member. It is a great loss of employer because they choose their workers according to their skills but in case of online business there is not any surity that selected individuals are pursue their duty.
In conclusion, it is surely said that online business is a mixed blessing with both advantages and disadvantages if emloyees and employers perform there duties effectively, definitely internet business only create benefits for organisations.

    1. In many countries children are engaged in some kind of paid work.some people regard this as completely wrong while others consider it as valuable work experience, important for learning and taking responsibility.what are your opinion on this?

In modern Era, children prefers to do job along with their study. It is followed up in some places while others argue this as an unmindful practice. This essay will highlight the hindrance caused by paid work in children’s psychology.
Firstly if children remain busy with their job, responsibilities in their initial learning phase they might interact less with others. Secondly, they can be addicted to earn money and can consider education as useless. Not only this but also kids can be anti social. For instance, a 14 years old boy doing paid work in spite of joining school can results rise in illegal activities. Hence, proper education is crucial then involving in earning activities for children.
On the other hand, involving children’s in taking responsibility, performing job activities is against child right. Below 18 should be monitored properly by guardians so that they can distinguish between right and wrong deeds. Consequently, children’s can be psychologically distracted as they perform job with their negative co-workers. For example, last year when I was doing my research I found a boy approximately 15 years smoking along with his colleagues in hotel I came to knew that he was habituated because of his friend. That’s why, children’s must be under supervision and sent to school.
To encapsulate it, education plays a pivotal role in building leadership and developing communication skills among children. However, others argue that they can be more matured if responsibility is provided. They can support their family. To my point of perspective, education is the best way to shape out the outshine future of a nation’s builder. So, government must be concerned towards it.

  4. Please evaluate my below task –
    Q. In some countries children have very strict rules of behaviour, while in other countries they are allowed to do almost anything they want.
To what extent should children have to follow rules?

Every country has its own cultural values that are unique from others thus, children worldwide are expected to follow different behavioural rules which are acceptable in their society. It is complex to express the extent of such rules, however, at some regions, these are much stricter than others.
There is no denying that children are vulnerable section of the society in terms of making critical decisions because of lack of experience in their life, therefore their parents play a vital role in guiding and making them a good civilian. Inculcating good behaviours and alerting them about the consequences of bad behaviour are some of the ways they govern their kids. For instance, while in India, people usually do not call their seniors at work or in the family by name because, in their childhood, they are taught to do so which they follow throughout their life, however, in western countries it is common to call a senior by their names and is not treated as disrespectful.
On the other hand, like everyone else children also loves to enjoy freedom, and in some countries, they are free to make their own choices on different facets of life such as education and choosing life-partner. There, parents believe that the best way their children can learn, and grow is through their own mistakes and experiences. For instance, while in western countries, children usually leave to live an independent life in their young age and thus, they have to make various important decisions own their own, in Asian countries children always have to take their parents’ permission on various life-matters.
In conclusion, in different countries, children have to follow different rules, and I believe it is good for them to be acceptable in their own society.

  5. Studies show that many criminals do not receive enough education. For this reason, people believe that the best ways to reduce crime is to educate them so they can find a job after being released. Do you agree or disagree?
It is often believed that the most appropriate step to reduce the crime rate is to provide education for offenders because this will help them to find employment. Research has also revealed that a low level of education is a reason to commit an offence by a criminal. I do not agree with the statement that because this approach is expensive and chances of reoffending remains in society. This essay will explain the reasons for my disagreement using the examples of two united nations- the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
To begin with, the main reason behind not providing education for criminals is that cost of this step is too high. This will increase the burden on the government’s shoulders. Furthermore, the government will start neglecting the other sectors of society such as healthcare, school- education, and public transport. For instance, the United Kingdom Crime Association consulted with the government of their nation to allocate funds for education in prisons. As a result, other public sectors suffered and witnessed 35% of decrement in their funding.
The second reason is that education does not guarantee that offenders will not commit a crime again after imprisonment. Take West Virginia as an example, a northwest state in the United States of America, where 67% of educated-criminals committed the crimes again after release from prisons. This was mainly because hardcore criminals have no impact on education and these expert criminals persuade young offenders to re-offend. Therefore, it is futile to educate criminals.
In conclusion, it is true educating offenders in prisons is not an effective way to curtail crime because it requires a great deal of money and the most of the criminals resort to crime again after being released from prisons.

  6. Question –
In some countries, employees are generally given two weeks of paid vacation time each year. In other countries, employees are given four or six weeks of paid vacation time.

Considering the needs of both employee and employer, what do you think is a reasonable amount of paid vacation time for employees to have? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

    Answer –
Depending on different nation’s laws, the duration for paid vacation time varies. Some nations allow employees to take two weeks while others grant four to six weeks annually. In my opinion, granting two weeks of paid holidays are sufficient for employees considering from both employers as well as employees perspective.

There is a give and take relationship between an employee and an employer. Because of the hardwork that employees put in their work, the employer’s business thrives. It is, therefore, important to consider both parties requirements when the policies are being designed that shall benefit both of them. Employees need to relax and have a break from their schedule to re-energize and come back with the same amount of passion they had earlier to achieve their competitive goals. While on the other hand, employers bear the loss while the employees are away but need to design a strategy to handle the situation. When employees tend to take a break from work, their responsibilities can be assigned to another employee to avoid any issues in delivery. A recent survey was carried out, in September 2019, in different countries granting different paid vacations, which concluded that employers manage to function seamlessly with some employees being on a two-week leave. The study also highlighted that employees were observed more passionate and enthusiastic on their return after the vacation.

Considering the countries who have four to six weeks paid holidays, have a much slower growth rate as per the study. Also, the employees were still in the vacation mode even after having a five week holiday on average. There was a psychological study suggesting that, once an employee dis-associates himself from work for a longer period of time, say more than 3 weeks, he tends to stick to his lazy schedule for over a month before he settles in his work environment. From my personal experience, I need a break from work once in a while, although, two-week leaves are enough to recharge myself and focus on my professional front again. No matter how long the paid vacation is, I get relaxed in the first 1.5 weeks itself.

To Conclude, to make it a win-win situation, it is ideal to provide a two-week employee paid vacation. Considering the loss of business, psychological tendencies of employees, employees need of relaxation time and market trends of competition, fourteen days of paid vacation is sufficient. This maintains the business as well as the mental-health of the employees who are responsible for business’s success.

    1. Different nations have there own style of providing salaried casual leaves. Few, believes in giving 14 days of holidays whereas, other provides 38 to 52 days vacations. According to me, it should be definitely not less then one to two months duration because one year is long time and any consumer life has lots of responsibilities.
On one hand, along with job people need vacant time to support their day to day chores which includes plethora of things such as attending parents teacher meeting, taking parents and kids to doctor, attending family function as well as visit their near and dear house either in the state or out of station. These all activities requires time and is essential to create healthy work life balance. Recent health magazine had published an article where the survey was made to find which professionals where more happily committed to there work and it was found that teachers are more healthier then IT people because they get more recreation time from job.
On the other hand, any company first aim at its profit and maximum time given by employee indeed generates profit. Thus, we cannot close our eye towards this and need to find some midways solution. In my point of view best way to curb this problem is to allow employ to work from home just for an hour or two during their holiday according to feasibility, making sure that project and client should not suffer. Many guys working from home have said that although they sit for whole day but there effective hour of working is just 2-4 hours. Hence, this technique can be applied to curb problem.
Work life balance is very important which requires 30-50 days of paid holidays at the same time we cannot turn our head from companies finance generation. Thus, work from home with cut down hours can be a possible approach to satisfy both employee as well as employers need.

  7. Question :- In recent years, many small local shops have closed because customer travel to large shopping centres or mall to do their shopping
Is this a positive or a negatice development

Shopping is always a necessity for everyone, and nowadays most of the peoples do it for fun as well. Since the mega malls are coming into place so peoples are moving there for their shopping purposes and that affected the business of local shops and today I put some light on this topic.

People nowadays want convenience in their life and they don’t want to visit multiple shops to buy different categories of stuff. For example: if want household items they need to visit a local shop which only sells this category or at the same time if they want to buy some furniture they need to visit some other local shop to fulfill their need rather than do that they likely to visit one single place where they can buy each and everything which they want under a single roof.

For that need, they prefer a large shopping mall because there they can get competitive prices, better presentation of items, good quality with a range of products, and customer services. Also if they are shopping with their children so they can leave their children in the play area that is only available somewhere in the large shopping mall because this actually gives them peace of mind to shop. one more reason for this preference is that after shopping when they feel tired so they can have a meal as well in the food court.

Although what I think that this is a positive development because you can shop and your children can have fun at the same time and you don’t need to visit multiple places worry about the parking space looking for the good quality stuff and on the other hand this is also affecting the business of the local shops which actually affect the economy of the country because local shop owners having an only way of their earning is from their shop which is now not in a condition to fulfill their expense and lead toward the clouser.

  8. Nowadays business face problems with new employees who just finished their education and lack some interpersonal skills such as working in a team. why do you think is the main cause of this problem and how can it be resolved?

Soft skills not only influence corporate culture but will also decide the outcome of the company’s success. The companies, in today’s era, facing challenges because of lack of social skills namely teamwork, leadership in fresh graduates. Insufficient practical knowledge is the prominent reason behind this above said assertion and timely interaction of students with the industrialist by universities is the solution of the same, which this essay is going to delve in the forthcoming paragraphs with the help of relevant citation and will provide a credible conclusion as well, at the end.
There is one major reason for the deficit of social skills in newcomers. The academic curriculum has minimal intervention of hands-on classes. The education system put stress on theoretical knowledge and encourage the students to elevate their scores; eventually most of the new learners has a perspective that better grades are sufficient to acquire good position in the business or workplace. Therefore. neglecting the human relationship traits which are consider as crucial parameter at any corporate culture. For instance, a novice holds first division in their subjects during graduate nowadays fails to adjust in the culture of the workplace resulting in degrade in his or her performance.
One of the best ways to overcome this issue is to arrange time to time interactive classes and industrial training in the small and medium scale enterprises. This will not only provide a platform to the learners to acquire social traits but will also recognise their strengths and weaknesses as a result they will show interest in grabbing these capabilities and perform better in their career. To illustrate, if universities and institutes conduct skill development sessions for a few months’ student will get a chance to interact with various companies eventually they learn by the skill to succeed in life.
To conclude, because of inadequate perform professional awareness in beginners many employees confront problem of shortage of social skill in them which can be overcome by conducting appropriate development classes by respective academies.

  9. In some countries, young people do not take care of their elderly relatives. Instead, they appoint trained professionals who take care of the elderly.
Is it a positive or a negative trend according to you? Discuss both views and give your opinion.

In the modern world, there has been an accelerating trend of people hiring skilled caretakers to look after senior citizens of the family. It is often argued by many that youth does not pay enough attention to their old family members therefore hire experienced caretakers to ensure their well-being. In this essay, I will discuss both the sides of the argument and give my opinion.
It is observed that the elderly suffer from various mental and physical disorders which is why they need the help of others. It is believed that while caretakers can fulfil the needs of the old people efficiently, they fail to support them emotionally. Elderly hesitate to discuss their personal thoughts with these professionals which in turn, leave them feeling isolated and unwanted. For instance, the recent report of ‘The National Health Institution,’ illustrates that 59 per cent of senior citizens in India undergo acute depression due to the underlying fact that they do not have a companion to share their feelings. Hence, family members can more effectively look after them.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that money is one of the most significant elements in our lives. In addition, a heavy amount is being spent on the elderly’s necessities. In order to afford all these expenses, it is vital for adults of the family to do job which unwillingly forces them to appoint helpers for their old relatives. For example, an average of Rs. 15,000 is required every month for my grandparents’ medicines and health check-ups which is high. Since both of my parents are working professionals, they comfortably bear the cost while managing other household expenses. Thus, sometimes it becomes necessary to hire qualified caretakers for old people to ensure they receive the proper care.
In conclusion, undoubtedly, it is the responsibility of the youth to take care of their old family members however, there is no harm in appointing the attendants. In my opinion, hiring expert caretakers for the elderly is the best way to ensure that their needs and demands are getting satisfied so that the young people of the family can concentrate on their official tasks comprehensively.

  10. In the future, more people will choose to go on a holiday in their own country and not to travel abroad on holiday.
    Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

In a modern world, there has been an accelerating trend of people travelling to different countries for leisure. However, some travel experts believe that a large group of population would explore the local tourist places in the near future rather than hopping around the world. In my opinion, I believe that many people will prefer to travel in their own country in the coming days.
Firstly, going on holidays in your own country is cheap and affordable as compared to travelling overseas. As we all know that many people suffered through financial crises due to the world-wide spread of COVID-19 thus it is worth considering that now budget travellers would wish to on the vacation to nearby travel destinations which would not burden their pockets. For example, one of my friends used to go on an international holiday every year however, this year she chose to travel Shimla- a hill station, as she was tight on money.
Secondly, there is no denying that the advancement in electronic and social media has made humankind familiar with numerous beautiful places of the country. Nowadays, there are several channels available online which reveal the country’s most astonishing sites and spots. Furthermore, the government has started telecasting advertisements to boost tourism. All these initiatives have encouraged masses to go on a holiday in their respective countries. To illustrate, according to ‘National Tourism Survey 2018,’ there is an increase in India’s tourism rate by 35 per cent due to the expansion of media platforms and advertisements.
In conclusion, there is a high possibility that the wanderers will prefer going on trips in the country where they reside. This will not only save their hard-earned income but in turn, will help local businesses flourish therefore contribute in improving the national economy.

  11. Question
Some people argue that technical inventions, such as mobile phone, are making people socially less interactive.
    Do you agree or disagree?

    Answer

Nowadays, wherever we turn our gaze we can easily see that technological gadgets are huge part of our daily life. It is claimed that technical devices, such as mobile phones, laptop, etc., make people asocial more. However, I partially agree with this as the effects on people depend on the purpose of usage.
It is true that in many cases, people live in the globe of tech become more addict on their own devices, such as smart phones, personal computers, tablets etc., in recent decades. Human beings who have addiction of their appliances prefer spending time with their devices to hanging out and doing activities with their friends. A good example of this is that today’s children who are technophile like glued to the screen of their phones or tablets. They can consume many virtual contents, such as videos on YouTube and anime series in other platforms, and they can play games all day. Therefore, they cannot socialize with people in physical world.
On the other hand, it is an undeniable fact that cutting edge technology making our lives easier every passing day. The best example of this is social media. Anyone who is user of any social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn, can easily reach and share somethings with their friends whenever they want. Thus, interaction between people is enhancing thanks to technical inventions.
In conclusion, according to the purpose of utilization of technical inventions, interactivity vary from person to person. For this reason, I would partially agree to matter of making people socially less interactive. (282 words)

  14. Some people think that the main factors influencing a child’s development these days are things such as tv, friends and music. Others believe that family still remains very important.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is generally believed by a proportions of individual that, nowadays, advancement such as television, companion and music plays a prominent part in the growth of juvenile. However, others feel parents have major role .Both arguments will be analysed in the forthcoming paragraphs before a conclusion is declared.

Firstly, some argue technology’s main purpose in infant’s development is to develop cognitive skills. Watching various sorts of movies comedy entries and reality shows encourage the child to learn, understand, think and imagine different circumstances as a result they perform better in their academic and daily life. For Example, according to a recent poll by Cambridge University revealed that teenagers those having friends express themselves confidently while performing regular assignments at school. In case of peers, playing and performing with them boost their overall confidence. Thus, the merits of this opinion are hard to support.

An alternative position states that parents still hold first place in the adolescence growth as they teach them socialization. Juveniles spends major part of his or her life with their guardians. They observe and implement their habits in them. Moreover, parents educate, nurture basic moral and ethical values in their children. As evidence in an article published in The Hindu in 2020, stated that teenagers residing with their ancestors or parents are much more psychologically stronger than those who lived alone. Therefore, the heightened benefits of parents in life can be clearly seen.

To conclude, after looking at these different points of views, I firmly opine that guardian are important for overall growth of child. Modernization and companion enhances the cognitive capabilities and moral in child whereas parents aid in educate and spiritual development.

  15. Clothing makes people more elegant. For the selection of the dress, the individual has their own freedom .Although plethora of them are saying, may the connection with the people attire and their society. I agree with that because the costumes are reflecting the personality and tradition.
Firstly, culture has a significant role in selecting a wearing. People are using different ways of dressing on the whole over the world. The outfit not only shows the culture but also it represents the social status. Moreover it is varying from one state to another. In India the dressing may be categorized in two ways for instance ,western wear and traditional. Many of them prefer modern wearing. Even though, mostly they choose based on their traditions. It shows the diversity of culture. Therefore, people pick various styles of dress related to their culture.
Secondly, there are some connections between look and their character .The culture resembles the behavior of one group. Mostly the way you dress is the sign of your education, lifestyle, beliefs and prestige. For instance the people who are related to the high class, and one who comes from the middle class, dressed up entirely different. Usually a large number of people are following the strict norms of their community. But the person choosing the modern dress they were enjoying their lives more. Sometimes the trends cross beyond the countries. It helps to exchange the values.
To summarize ,the nation’s following multicultural styles, and If we observe keenly there are some relation with culture and personality of the individual.

  16. Write at least 150 words.

As part of a student social survey project, you are organizing a group to visit a historical exhibition in a small town.

Write a letter asking for information regarding such things as the contents of the exhibition, and the dates of its opening and closing, and if there are any discounts available.

  17. Some people say history is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that, in today’s world, subjects like science and technology are more important than history. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.

The technological developments in the world have put students and parents in dilemma to decide which subjects are good for their career. Many believe that history is one of the principal and significant course, whereas other’s advocate that considering the market’s requirement science and technology are of paramount importance. In my opinion, I believe that both subjects share equal importance by highlighting certain points.

On the one hand, history teaches a child about the past happenings like, how we evolved, what is our culture, tradition etc. If this is not taught, at some point of time a person will question himself or others about his past. This will create a confusion in life. Subjects like history give insights how step by step humans have reached to this standard of life, besides stopping human race to commit the mistakes that have been done before. The history about the World War 1 and 2, the Atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, are the evident scenarios that took millions of innocent lives.

On the other hand, science and technology is helping us move and grow towards much better future. Many big companies from time to time are looking for people who have interest in technology, science, robotics etc., and pay them good remuneration and benefits than other jobs. The advances due to this particular field has increased the life span of an average human being, as medicines for once deadly diseases are being provided at cheaper cost. Moreover, the distance of miles is covered in just few hours and the face to face contact with our loved ones is just a call away.

In conclusion, history and science are both of vital importance, however, it should be taught to every student to a certain age and let them decide which subject they want to pursue. This will help them to remain motivated, abreast and interested in future when they choose their career in one of those fields.

  18. Some people think its better to choose friends who always have the same opinion as them. Other people believe its good to have friends who sometimes disagree with them.
Discuss both view and give your own opinion.

Making friends is an innate characteristic of humans. We all make companions so that we can share our emotions, thoughts and even secrets. There are people who might want to make friendship with the like-minded people so that they have the same opinion, while others might prefer those with diversified view. This essay will cover both aspects.
Being friends with people who always have the same opinion as yours, boosts confidence. It gives the courage and conviction to put across your idea succinctly, which ultimately helps to gain trust and acknowledgement. To illustrate, it is very common during childhood to make friends having same opinion, because it goes well with their playful mindset.
On the other side, it is frequently believed that it is good in having comradeship with people of varied opinions. People have different IQ levels and therefore making companionship with them helps you to have a multifold view to any situation. This will help you to perceive things differently and come up with a wider perspective. Furthermore, it will help to increase your tolerance level which in turn will be beneficial for your personality.
I opine that its better to have friends with varied perspective so that it not only helps build your emotional quotient but also enhance your inter-personal skills.

  19. Please evaluate my answer and give me an estimated band score
Question:- Some people think that hosting an international sports event is good for the country, while some people think it is bad. Discuss both views and state your
    opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
You should write at least 250 words.
    Answer:
People think that hosting international sports events will have benefits, while some people think it is bad. In this essay, we will discuss both the views and talk about the good sides and bad sides of hosting an international sports event.

The better sides of hosting an international sports event are the name of the country and the city in which the event takes place will become popular throughout the globe and the status of the country will rise by perfectly conducting the event without any failures. There will be a rise in the tourists visiting the country not only for watching the sports events but also for visiting other tourist visiting parts of the country. Due to the increase in the tourist population, the locals get income. There will be development in the areas where the events take place and the locals get benefited from the development. A perfect example of this is Rio Olympics, Brazil. Where they successfully conducted the event and the city Rio became popular all over the world.

The bad part of conducting the international sports event is the local government should spend a lot of their public money. They should also increase the security for events and provide security for the international players who come to participate in the events. The accommodation should also be provided by the countries local government. Failure in the security and failure in conducting the event will lead to the damage of the country’s image. An example of this is terror attacks in Pakistan on Sri Lanka players.

Finally, I conclude there will be both good side and bad sides in hosting an international sports event.

  20. Wealthy nations should assist poorer countries with humanitarian relief during natural disasters.
    Do you agree or disagree?

Natural Calamity is an act of God that could happen anywhere in the world irrespective of the geographical boundaries amongst the nations. I completely agree with the statement that rich countries should assist impoverished nations with money or other resources such as food during natural catastrophes because it is the moral obligation of a country to help others during such a disaster and also, developed countries can utilise this situation for improving their diplomatic relations with poorer countries by providing them the necessary aid.
First of all, developed countries would sound unfair and cruel if they do not help under-developed or developing ones during any natural disaster. These countries should batten down the hatches to help other countries in need as they already have upper hand in terms of wealth and other resources. Failing to do so makes that country non-philanthropist which is generally not acceptable in society. For instance, United Kingdom helped poorer countries of Africa during the Ebola breakout for which UK was applauded by the United Nations.
Secondly, rich countries could improve their relations with poor nations if they provide help during natural calamity. Since manpower is cheap in developing countries, by developing good global relations with them, developed countries can generate revenues. For instance, recent studies have shown that Indo-Canadian relations were improved when Canada provided financial aid while India faced a feminine last year. So nowadays we can see a lot of Global outsourcing centres located in India for Canada business, which will ultimately help Canada’s pockets to grow.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that wealthier nations should help poorer ones during the natural calamity as this is a moral responsibility of rich nations to help others in need and apart from that they could benefit from poor countries by keeping good relations that eventually will help them in generating more revenues.

  21. Some people think that children who spend a lot of time reading children’s story books are wasting their time which could be better used doing other more useful activities.
To what extent do you agree?

There are plethora of people who believe that children who spend thier time in reading story books are wasting their time and instead of doing that they should utilize their time in doing some other useful extra curricular activities. Thus, in my opinion I would like to disagree partially with the given topic. Hence, in my esaay I would like to give idealogy on the given topic along with some examples.

In this modern world, there are myriad of schools which are still giving their students reading assignments. As it will help them in getting familiar with the words, it can also boost up the creativity and imagination power of the children. Reading stories can also help students learn about the history, culture and tradition of our country. Most importantly, it can teach them the moral values of lives and how to takle problems in the outside world on their own strength. By reading stories children can also develop skills like critical thinking, writing skills and many more. For instance, I read a survey which was conducted by the University of Oxford. In this survey they asked several kinder-garden teachers and parents about their school’s percentages and in the results it was clear to them that the children who used to read books from a tender age were smarter as compared to other children.

Nowaday, there are only few kids who like to read story books in comparision to olden times. However, they like to listen stories online via youtube or amazon audible and sometimes they might read books which contains pictures. In this way, there are chances that they might become lethagric, ignorant or introvert. Well, there were few students in my school who were always reading books and they were not at all intrested in what is going on in the classroom and if I recall correctly they harldy spoke anywords in the school. However, they were having good imaginative power and they not only did win so many prizes in essay writing competitions but also in debate when we were in 8th standard.

In my conclusion, I would like to say that reading stories is the most important in one’s life as it can teach a lot of things in life. There are some stories which can even motivate children to overcome their fears in life and it can also help them to stay on the right path. I think that all the schools should start reading programs for children in tender age and they should make it compulsary as extra activities rather than studying it only in English subject.

  22. Question : Government investment in the arts, such as music and theatre, is a waste of money. Governments must invest this money in public services instead.

To what extent do you agree with this statement?

    Answer:
It is believed that education largely consists of subjects like physics, chemistry and math, this disregards the importance that should be given to the arts. Thus I am in disagreement with the statement above and in the following essay will attempt to argue why the government should invest more in the development as well as education of arts.

To be supportive of the arts is to be supportive of one’s culture, there are innumerable traditions and pieces of art that have been preserved throughout history and stood the test of time. I do agree that public services are of extreme importance in the community and the government should put forward a significant budget for this issue but that is certainly no excuse to deny the sheer salience of art in today’s world.

We as humans, are irretrievably and hopelessly in love with art because music, theater, philosophy and literature is nothing but a commentary on the human condition itself, it provides entertainment as well as deep insight which would not be found anywhere else. It is essential to teach our youth about the arts so that they preserve it generations from now, so that centuries in the future people revel in the fact that years ago, the debate was won by art and it has persevered. We gladly allow the movie industry to spend billions of dollars on action movies that serve no purpose except for being flashy and capturing our attention for 120 minutes then why not support art which tells the story of life itself?

  23. Please, could anyone evaluate my below task?
    Thank you very much!

Question: Some universities now offer their courses on the Internet so that people can study online. Is this a positive or negative development? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Online learning has already started conquering the university world, with lessons now delivered through apps such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom. As any time that a change occurs, it is natural to ask yourself: is this good or bad?

It is true that many positive aspects can be found. First of all, online learning offers students flexibility. Thanks to online classes, it is now possible to follow lessons almost anywhere, with the only need for an Internet source and hopefully some silence. It is also useful in terms of time: while with traditional classes, students were forced to make time to travel for a certain place to their class, maybe leaving earlier in order not to be late, now with online classes they can follow lessons from the comfort of their houses, using all the time previously spent on commuting for something else. Last but not least, it is also cheaper: the only costs students will have to face are university fees and maybe the price of a computer, if they don’t already own one. If we want to be extremely precise, we could add Internet expenses, but that’s it. Students won’t need to transfer if the university is in a different city from their hometown and therefore they won’t have to pay rent fees and the general costs of living in another city.

However, online learning has also a darker side. What students earn in terms of extra time or save in terms of money, they lose in terms of human interaction. Are we sure that interacting with professors and classmates through a computer screen is the same as in person? Not only the communication online is more difficult, but it usually leads to more incomprehensions since it’s harder to understand other people’s feelings and emotion through a computer. In addition, for all of those students that are starting their university experience online, it’s far more difficult to make friendes or establish meaningful relationships if they have never met their classmates in person. If we believe that the university experience is important not only for what we can learn and how we can improve in terms of academic success, but also for the human interactions we can have and the ability to work and co-operate with others we can obtain, then online learning is now the right solution. And it’s also important not to forget the health repercussions online learning could have: is it really healthy to spend that much time in front of a computer? Prolonged screen time could lead to a worse eyesight or at best cause headaches, which even if short are certainly not pleasant. In terms of health, online learning could also lead to a more sedentary lifestyle, which is already one of the biggest problems of the present time, since we are slowly becoming more sedentary everyday.

In conclusion, it can be said that the negative aspects of online learning outweigh the positive ones and thus universities should prefer traditional methods of learning.

  24. People attend various colleges and universities for various purposes, why they are important?
People these days are more fond to enroll in colleges and universities for their bright future because they provide great knowledge and experience about a particular subject which is necessary for carrier opportunities. I believe that it is the common and perhaps the only method to find a good job as well as social status in the society.

To embark with, college and universities runs various degree programs either they are undergraduate or postgraduate which are mandatory for a job seeking person. Moreover, job oriented companies require knowledge and skills of a relevant subjects which can be better fit for a learner and able to run that company well. Therefore, they need a good background from the authorized institution. In India various universities are authorised with a legal institutions because it is necessary to avoid any fraud.

Secondly, they provide excellent environment for learners and make them able to stand with the nation who perform better actions to become an ideal citizen for the society. They are capable to deal with the futuristic problems and have ability to overcome from difficult situations.

To sum up, colleges and universities not only provide knowledge and experience but also build a respectable character in the community which is ideal for development and growing of nation.

  25. Q. Some parents believe that learning mathematics at school is redundant and should not be taught while others believe that it should remain a foundational subject whether or not it is used later in life. Discuss both sides.

Answer – Mathematics is increasingly becoming a controversial topic of debate among parents in today’s world and whether to make it compulsory at schools, still remains an open area for discussion. While some parents think that studying mathematics at school is not necessary, others argue that it is an important subject and should be mandatory. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument in detail.

Nowadays, a growing consensus is developing among parents who feel that mathematics should be completely removed from the list of fundamental subjects in schools, as it has become no longer relevant. They have strong reasons to believe this, as mathematics is barely used by most students in the future and is increasingly becoming unpopular. For instance, in today’s world, simple to complex mathematical operations can be done via computer applications. Therefore, some parents consider this as an unimportant course to be taught in schools.

However, there is another group of parents who strongly oppose this idea and instead suggest that learning mathematics should be made compulsory, as part of the academic curriculum, irrespective of its usefulness. As they have sufficient scientific studies to believe that students who learn mathematics can better understand and analyze a situation and develop better problem solving skills. For example, according to a recent survey, more than 95% of individuals with some kind of background in mathematics are able to perform better in day-to-day life’s job as compared to only 15% of individuals without any sort of mathematical background. For these reasons, the other class of parents believes that mathematics should remain an important subject in the school curriculum.

In conclusion, mathematics still remains at the center of the debate on whether to make it compulsory in schools or not. Although some people support the idea of not teaching mathematics in schools, others strongly disagree. This essay discussed why different groups of parents have different views on whether to teach mathematics in school and provided various reasons in order to understand both sides of the argument.

  26. Q. the bar chart shows the percentages of Australians men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activities in 2010.

This bar chart illustrates the percentages of regular physical activity in 2010 of Australian men and women in different age groups. This chart compares with from the age of 15 to 65-year-old Australians.

The age group of 15 to 24 physical activity by males are higher than female, in contrast, the age of 35 to 44 having huge differences between males and females. Here, females are doing more physical activity with 52.2 per cent than males which are 39.5 per cent. But 65 and above year old males and females are having nearly equal percentages of physical activity which is 46.7 and 47.1 respectively.

Younger men are more active and doing more physical activity till the age of 24 than women. male of 25 years and older are having consistently low percentages of physical activity compared to female. On the other hand, females are doing more activities by increasing age groups expecting 15 to 24-year-old females. Older age males and females are doing nearly equal weight doing physical activities percentage. Although, females are still having weight. In contrast, young are people who have an age between 15 to 24 are getting more percentage than female. If we see the 35 to 44 age graph, females are more prominently doing physical activities.

  27. Some people believe that charities should help people in need no matter where those people are in the world. Others feel that these organizations should only serve the people living in the country where they are based. Discuss both sides and give your own view.

Charity is the noble act of humanity which promotes universal unity and positively impacts the relationship between different countries. Hence, few believe that there should not be any barriers in providing the helping hands to the country in need, whereas others believe that organizations should only serve the people of their own country. I strongly advocate the former view; however, both sides of an argument have been discussed in the essay below.

Every country has its unique sets of resources and deficiencies. If countries become adamant to become self-sustaining it can have detrimental impact on human life. For example, in case of heavy floods or natural calamity where the whole country is severely affected it needs external assistance of cash rich countries to overcome the devastating loss. Whereas, countries with boosting economy might need help of under developed countries in case their environment becomes unsustainable to agriculture or production of natural resources.

Opponents might argue that such understanding can create burden on emerging economies as their cash outflow would be considerably higher than help they might receive. This can hinder the development of countries in terms of medicine, research, infrastructure, etc. Countries might not be able to provide enough security, healthcare cover, infrastructural development to its citizens from whom they have levied heavy taxes.

To reiterate, although it is unfair to not provide citizens with enough facilities, it would be inhuman to not offer helping hand to people who are struggling to get their basic needs met. Hence, I feel charities should help all humans irrespective of their country of residence.

  28. Question: Some people think that hosting an international sports event is good for the country, while some people think it is bad. Discuss both views and state your opinion.
Answer:Humans are competitive species and sports are one of the best ways we can demonstrate our physical & mental skills.

Many people across the world tend to have exposure to different types of sports from a very young age. These athletes dedicate their whole lives to achieve mastery in a particular sport. An international sports event such as olympics, world cup is a chance for them to show their talent to people to enjoy. Many sports enthusiasts though don’t play themselves, enjoy watching international sports events for pleasure. Moreover, hosting an international sports event gives boost to the hosting nation’s economy and help their local businesses grow. Events of the scale of olympics can boost the nation’s GDP, create jobs and build infrastruture for future athletes.

On the contrary, such events may lead to many unavoidable consequences. In past, many countries have done extensive deforestation in order to build the infrastructure needed to host an international sports event. In addition to this, disproportionate and unsustainable air & noise pollution has raised many concerns by local and international environmental activists and organisations.

Another argument raised by locals in the host country is that government should instead spend this money for betterment of its own people, building basic amenities for people in need rather than stadiums for the elite. On one side, people have difficulty in accessing clean drinking water whereas on the other side goverment is spending billions on swimming pools.

Taking both sides into the consideration, although we cannot deny the basic human nessecities such clean drinking water to the people of the host country, we need to give equal importance to social well being achieved by art forms such as sports.

  29. organizing a large family celebration, such as wedding can often create problems, what can be the problems associated with organizing a large family event and what solutions can you suggest?
A large family event is a place where all people have happiness. But in the process of organizing celebrations may happen some problems. This essay will discuss some of the problems as well as possible suggestions.
people face with several problems when they hold a large family event. One of the main problems is related to the time and date of holding a celebration. It is hard to set a time, which is suitable for guests to attend. Most of the time, family celebrations are held based on family member’s schedule. For example, some people choose a working day to celebrate. While it is difficult for guests to participate in the ceremony.another negative point is about budget. It is clear that organizing a large family celebration needs a lot of money that families have to pay for different items. Maybe they even had to use their savings money. Finally, they may succeed to hold a nice event, but they could encounter with some problems due to this wasting of money.

I believe that there are some solutions to tackle these problems. Firstly, it is better that families hold a celebration as wedding on weekends. It is a best time for attender to take part in the event without any worries. Another solution is that families make a list of what they want to do and required items and facilities, calculate the money which is needed and make a balance between the cost of organizing a celebration and their money. It could be helpful to control the expenditure. Therefore, they could hold a beautiful event based on what they are dreamed about.
In conclusion, large family celebration may create a chance of visiting friends, and also make happiness. It is true that some problems happening, but there are several solutions to tackle them.

  30. In the future, nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want without paying.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

    Writing Task 2

Online books are the future. Although it is deemed by many that traditional newspapers and books will be substituted by their online and free copies, I believe, there will still be some demand for paper-based materials even in this fast-advancing technological era.

In this technologically evolving world, where every day is full of new and creative inventions by technological masters, online materials are becoming a vital part of our lives. Nowadays, many people have access to tons of information provided on the Internet. As time passes, people will definitely have more opportunities and more modern gadgets to find whatever they are looking for online in a matter of seconds. Some companies, due to the advancements in the AI industry, have already created many examples of smart E-book applications, which can understand their reader and adapt to their preferences.

However, some members of society are always resistant when it comes to usage of new technology, even if it can make their life far convenient. For instance, we can see many members of older generation still buying newspapers, even though there are many news blogs presented on the internet. Some people will still prefer to use printed versions because they will find it difficult to read from electronic screens even if they will have to pay for it. As a result, online versions will not be as required by them as they are by those who are comfortable with technology.

To conclude, even though online versions of any printed material might be available at any time in the near future, some people will still be needing to have traditional options.

  31. Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taugh to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

The world around us has a growing population, Britain is no exception to this fact. With the average age of population inclining towards the higher end of the age band, the government is tasked more than ever to take care of rehabilitating its seniors. Through this essay, I will attempt to picturize my thoughts on the matter, whether such care should be funded by the government or should it rather fall back as a responsibility of the family members.

We must consider few facts before we expect the government to bear the complete cost of such rehabilitation. As one would know, the administration is already dealing with a declining per capita over the last couple of years from its younger population. In such circumstances, increasing spending on senior care might plummet the national fund figures further. The is also the problem of assuring quality medical and nursing facilities, which currently faces an acute local skill shortage, meaning more spending on getting skilled workforce from overseas. Individuals sheltered at old homes not only require medical and nursing care but recreational/well-being activities too, contributing to another cost head. Hence, government taking complete ownership of such duties might not be the most lucrative idea in the long term.

On the other end of the spectrum, we also must touch base upon the reality, that is why most people decide to move into an old home in the first place. Increasing financial burden on the family, mainly due to the shrinking disposable income, forces some seniors to voluntarily retire in old homes. In such event putting the financial weight back on the families, to sponsor medical and well-being expenses of their elderly, will increase the strain even further.

Hence, as a concluding thought having a system in place where this responsibility is parted in a 3:1 ration between the government and family, could be great benefit to both the parties. The government would have some breathing space in its national expenditure planning and the families can continue to care for their elderly with less worries of financial constraints. Striking a critical balance will not only promote better financial spending decision but also make the older generation feel less burdensome.

  32. Topic – In Britain, when someone gets old they often go to live in a home with
other old people where there are nurses to look after them. Sometimes
the government has to pay for this care.
Who do you think should pay for this care, the government or the family?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from
    your own knowledge or experience.

Humans in their old age need care and attention, as their body becomes frail and weak.
So here I would like to discuss, the points about who should be paying for their care, the government or the family.

Our parents take care of us when we are young, in the same way we are responsible to look after them during their old age. Families should support the old people and cater to their needs. Sometimes, the family members might be overburdened with work, hence they cannot provide the proper care and attention required. Therefore, they are forced to send the old people to care homes. In these care homes, there are nurses employed to fulfill all the needs of aged people. Family members should be paying for this assistance because they are unable to do it themselves. Abandoning their responsibilities and hoping for the government to pay for it does not benefit anyone. Nursing like any other service that is being provided to us should be paid by us.

Government should pitch in wherever it is necessary. For example, some old people do not have families and are staying in these old age homes. These people are wholly dependent on the government to pay for their well-being. The funds paid by the government should be utilised to benefit those who are in dire need of it. Overall, the old age people in these care homes should be entitled to proper food and care.

To conclude this, I would like to say that families should make sure their old members are treated the same way they would like to be treated when they become old. And the government should make sure that the old citizens of its country are not suffering because of their family members.

  33. In Britain, when someone gets old they often go to live in a home with other old people where there are nurses to look after them. Sometimes the government has to pay for this care. Who do you think should pay for this care, the government or the family?

The government would have some breathing space in its national expenditure planning and the families can continue to care for their elderly with less worries of financial constraints. Striking a critical balance will not only promote better financial spending decision but also make the older generation feel less burdensome.

  34. Nowadays many people travel to foreign countries for pleasure. Some believe this travel has a negative impact on the countries travelled to.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Travelling has become common these days. People tend to travel to get rid of stress and strain from their hectic life. However, a number of people think that it may lead to adverse impact on the nation. I strongly disagree with this argument, due to the fact traveling increases countries economy and helps to experience various cultures.
People travel to abroad for adopting better environment, which increases nation’s tourism economy. First and foremost, increased demand from tourist can boost local economies and local businesses. As a result, job opportunities increase as more tourists visit local areas. Secondly, tourism attracts investment from multinational companies. For example, wealthy foreign investors, invests to develop their companies, which helps to improve the standard of living. In addition, traveling helps to learn various traditions, language and culture.
On the other hand, people might have an opinion about the country they were about travel and if they do not meet their expectations, this may give them adverse opinion on the country. For instance, most of the traveler’s planning for a trip will take a glimpse at photos or local guide books, on the contrary for attracting tourism a number of nation’s may alter local culture, consequently, it results in adverse impact on the nation.
To sum up, it can be reiterated that, even though, there were disadvantages, advantages outweigh them. In my opinion, government should assure not to change local culture and tradition a lot for attracting lure from all over the world. Few modifications can help the nation rather than complete change of tradition.

  35. Many scientists claims that automatic cars are going to take over in the future. It is mainly because of the advancement in the technology. I consider it a positive trend due to the benefits associated with it such as convenience and time saving.

It was not long back when most of the things were manual but then scientific developments replaced most of the old objects with computer driven systems. Motor industry is a prime example where automatic cars quickly took control over manual cars. For instance, cars like Tesla have experienced a recent boom which strengthens the scientist’s theory that it won’t be much time until automobile industry will become fully technology driven. Thus, the constant improvement with the help of new research is the main factor behind this phenomenon of fully computerized cars.
The popularity of automatic cars will positively impact mankind as they will bring comfort to humans. It is a fact that driving is stressful task which put a lot of pressure on driver. With the automation of cars, people will be more relaxed and utilize the driving time in some other activities such as replying to emails, online meetings or finishing incomplete projects, therefore, increasing the overall productivity. To exemplify, people who use public transport, make the best use of travelling time by catching up on pending assignments. Hence, the same rule applies to automatic cars where work will be done by the computer leaving enough time for the driver to rest, relax and be productive.
In conclusion, motor vehicle industry is witnessing major changes, computerized cars are one of them. The advantages of automatic cars are multifold encouraging everyone to embrace this journey towards new era of self-driven cars.

  37. Please evaluate my essay
Q: Nowadays more and more people want to get things done instantly. Why is it? Do you think
it is a positive or negative development?
Ans: In this modern era of fast life, everyone wants to get things done instantaneously. They do not like to wait, even though don’t have patience. Right now, right here is the motto. I consider this change is due to the advancement of technology; especially the internet, and mobile technology. I believe the positive and negative aspects of this trend completely depend upon the situation and this essay will elaborate on both views with reasonable examples.

People more influenced by internet technology as compared to any other development. In other words, it is to say, the internet has revolutionized our lives is an understatement. It is possible for individuals to get every materialistic thing at the ease of just one click. It allows paying every sort of bills sitting at our comfortable place at any time from anywhere. All of these mundane tasks are performed within a few seconds. The biggest favor of technology to people is that everyone can carry the internet around as it works in every kind of device of all sizes and shapes so it is quite easy to use. Moreover, it is obvious for the newer generation to grow up learning, using the internet since their childhood to want to get everything done in seconds.

Hence, this urging on getting instant response or support certainly upon the access of technology. The internet has surely made our lives fast and accessible. As a matter of fact, like any other technology, the internet can also fail or disrupt from time to time. It is erroneous to completely rely on the internet as people who get addicted to instant gratification feel panic when they lose connectivity. This is common to see when city people visit rural areas where the internet is either slow or inaccessible.

To conclude, the behavior of getting everything done in an instant quick is because of the advancement of the internet in people’s lives, which has numerous positive scenarios. In my opinion, everything of excess is bad and over-dependency on anything is detrimental.

Some people think that physical strength is important for success in sport, while other people think that mental strength is more important. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
One of the most topical issue in modern society is, in sports physical strength is important or mental strength. This are those who say that physical strength is important for success in sports, however other believe that mental strength is more important. In this essay I will examine both side of the argument and provide my overall opinion.

Generally speaking there are two reasons why people believe that. Perhaps the main reason why people are in favor of mental strength is because it improved focous,in sports focous is important. Without focous can’t make goal, and don’t reach the achievement.Cause without focous player cant handle the situation, and they can’t set there goal.Secondly, increased mental toughness. As a reasult manage different thoughts, regulates emotion, and especially boost self confidence,so that whatever the result came sportsman keep themselves postive.

Despite these arguments, there is also a cause for the idea that physical strength is important for success in sports. Perhaps the main reason why people think that physical strength major is beacuse improve respiratory, cardiovascular health, diabetes, and overall health. For example physical strength keep body fit and strong, when people do physical workout there body feel less weight, and they need physically strong for sports.A further point in favor of physical strength is that without this can’t success in sports. This is because when people don’t have physical strength they can’t win any sports.Without body flexibility, there is no chance to win in sports.

In conclusion, this is a topic which raises strong passion on both sides of the argument. I am of the opinion that mental strength is more important in sports because without set goal can’t success in sports.

    1. “Youth drug abuse is a serous problem. What are the possible causes of this behavior?
Do you have any suggestion to control that?”

drug addiction is becoming a major threat to society. Not only adult but youngsters are also engaging in such bad habits. The effects of these ill substances are not well known. Many new talents were wasted and perphaps it has cost the life of users. To eradicate this problem, we need to understand possible underlying reasons. First and foremost is peer pressure. Many scientists has claim that environment has a great influence on one’s behavior. Juveniles involving in bad companies learned drug abuses from them. They usually forced them to consume it for a fame. Similarly, media and internet also impacting young youths. Films, movies and advertisement depicting illegal drug over and over results in devastating youth brains. At first, they tried it as entertainment then end up in addiction. It is undeniable fact that parents have a significant role in upbringing of their child. Those parents who are chain smokers or are already involved in drug absures, their children imitate them seeing this as socially admissible behavior. To stop this, parents needs to become their role model and encourage their children to maintain distance from harmful practices. Government should have to ban such adverts and movies that are impacting youth thinking. Moreover, programs should initiate to create awareness among people about deleterious effect of ill medicines. At last law enforcing agencies should condemn supply and transportation of drugs. By the way of conclusion, it is understood that media and peer pressure caused drug addiction in our juveniles therefore adults need to be more careful while parenting their children. Furthermore, government should take above mentioned steps to eliminate alarming concern of our society.

  39. The pie chart below shows the main reasons why agricultural land becomes less productive and the table shows how these causes affected three regions of the world during the 1990s.

The pie chart illustrates the data of the worldwide land degradation and the table gives the three causes of the decline the agricultural production by three selected nations in the year 1990

Overall, it can be seen from the major proportion of land degradation by over-grazing and deforestation in both charts, also in table, Europe was the highest percentage of the fall of production on land.

In the pie chart, the reason behind the land degradation had accounted 65% by over-grazing and deforestation. Moreover, by the over-cultivation had 28% affected and rest of the 7% affected by other.

From the table, the north America was minimal proportion accounted by three majors while total land degradation was only 5%. In the Europe, the three causes were accounted under the 10% however, the Oceania was 11.3% affected by over-grazing as well as by deforestation was 1.7%. Meanwhile, the Oceania was no impacted by the over-cultivation which registered 0%. Furthermore, the total land degradation by Europe had 23% as compare to Oceania had almost half proportion.

  40. Learning through visuals is more knowledgeable compared to books and paper based materials. Education in digital forms aids in ingraining knowledge to the brain quickly in contrast to reading. There are still a number of students who feels comfortable with the traditional way of getting information.

In the beginning of twenty first century, a number of institutions are incorporating technology as the ordinary way of teaching pupil. For instance, a numerous number of teachers are training their disciples in an emerging format called “E- learning”. E-learning is format where pupil in a class interacts with a virtual guide on the screen. It makes the classroom learning experience attractive and resourceful consequently there will be huge improvement in the performance of each undergraduate. In relation to why the program makes attractive, it is inspired from the perspective pf audience siting in a movie theater and enjoying a show. In addition to it, a script of a film watched long back can be recollected from your memory whereas an information on a book you read takes a quite long time.

By contrast, there exist a number of people consider gaining knowledge via reading is more beneficial than watching online tutorials, classes consequently. This mainly due to the fact, reading helps a person gain in depth analysis of a piece of information and analyze it further whereas time would not be sufficient to analyze each and every detail properly. For example, people say that going through novels gives a gist idea about characters and storyline better than adapted screenplays and dramas. Hence, books provide more resourceful content due to lack of time constraint.

Overall, Acquiring knowledge through digital medias more attractive on the contrary not for a long time. In reading your imagination power will increase when your go through each line in a book due to availability of massive amount of time. I hereby agree that Spending more time on materials is better than going through online medium.

  41. Task 2- In Britain, when someone gets old they often go to live in a home with
other old people where there are nurses to look after them. Sometimes
the government has to pay for this care.

Who do you think should pay for this care, the government or the family?

In the cutting edge era, mostly in U.K government has managed the take care expenses of old aged people. However, some arued that families should pay for this care. I think that authorities and family both are responsible for this.
On the one side, citizens always contribute their 100% for country. To explicate it, every individual always vouchsafe economic support to their country by investing money in the society and paying tax. To exemplify, according to the survey report, British government almost 50% income generated through collection ot tax in 2015. As a result, this is the legal responsibility of government to take care of old seniors by paying them pensions or other packages.
On the other side, senior individuals are roots of every family. During whole life, they always doing best for the family. To explain it, they are investing some money for long term investment for purchasing some houses and cars and other stuff for their children. The prominent thing is parents always sacrifice their whole life for buying the happiness of the youth. For instance, as per the report 80% of senior people spent their income on investment where as the relative figure were only 5% for youngsters. Hence, this is the right of every old aged people to receive respect from their children. The children should have to take care of their patents.
To conclude this, Athough, there is no doubt seniors citizens provides economically support to the nation as well as for their children. But i unequivocally believe that children are more responsible to take care of their parents instead of government.

question -the recent popularity of online shopping will result in the end of high street shops. To what extend do you agree or disagree.

    answer:-

The demand for online shopping is increasing day by day. It is been said that, e-shopping will one day outweigh the traditional high street shopping completely. I solemnly agree with the statement that with the popularity of e-commerce street shopping is coming to an end.

The trend for online shopping is seeking the hike day by day. One of the major reason for popularity of buying products online is the availability of products on merely a click at anytime and anywhere sitting at home. People are buying variety of product starting from kitchen appliances, clothing to even medical products. A wide range with various brands can be compared to select the best suitable product available. These facilities are various to provide at each high street shop.

To add on, another major reason for the popularity of online shopping is the discount rate and various coupons available. Also the maintenance of a goods is not necessary as various suppliers directly deliver the product from factory to customer, hence the costing of the storage is negligible. No human force is required to attend the customer.

To conclude, as the digitisation is being absorbed by the public demand for online shopping will be increasing which is hampering the high street shops and moving towards end of street shopping.

  43. When a person spends most of his or her time working a job with little job satisfaction, their life loses meaning.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The primary responsibility of government is to provide basic amenities to their citizen such as food, shelter and water. While some people are of the view that spending hung amount of money in work like art and statue is not worth, others argue that government should spend money on such recreational activity of art to make place better to live in. This essay supports the latter view that government give importance and spend money on painting and statues.
The first and foremost argument, why government should spend large sum of money on painting is that art brings out creativity of an individual. Also, it is best way to highlight hidden talent of an individual. Moreover, it helps us to relieve stress and tension from our busy work schedule. In addition to, with support of government many artists would get rewards and recognitions. Besides, art is a great source of expressing an individual feelings through painting. For example, many art are used today to convey social message to society.
However, on the flip side, there are some people who believe that government especially in developing countries, where people are living below poverty line, should spend money on improving their living standard. In spite of this, it’s imperative for the government to support art for well-being of society. Also, government can generate revenue through optimum utilization of art items and it is justifiable too.
In conclusion, though government primary responsibility is to provide basic amenities to their citizen, encouraging and spending money on art such as painting is more important and demand of contemporary world.

  44. Dear Sir,

I am writing to inform you that I am discontinuing the evening course in Economics.

I have been attending your daily Economics lessons in the evenings. After the lesson is over, I have to rush to the DeLuna hotel to be on time for my part-time job. I work at the hotel as a cashier and waiter. Usually, my work starts by 9pm and ends around midnight.

Unfortunately, my situation has changed. My sister, who is expecting, has moved in with me, and I am now supporting her as well. My monthly expenses have increased considerably due to the added medical expenses.

Thankfully, I have found another job that will help me take care of my sister in these difficult times. However, the timings of the new job clash with the timings of my evening class. Hence, I will be unable to continue as of now.

I was wondering if I could take up the course again after a year. By that time, my sister and my nephew would have settled down, and I will have some free time.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

    Yours faithfully

    Brian Adams

    1. Environment problems such as pollution and climate variations are increasing nowadays. The government have taken some measures at a global level but they got only few solutions, how can this problem be solved.

Nobody can deny that global warming is being enhanced each and every day. Atomosphere such as impurity and changes in weather are increasing these days . Authorities need to make some rules to control the fouling. I will discuss the issues and solutions related to the pollution in the upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, there are number of consideration for the global warming. Firstly, factories, which are the one of the main reason to emission the toxic gases from the chimneys .when the chemicals are mixed in the environment ,it create multitude of diseases like asthma ,skin cancer, cynosis and so on. Secondly, deforestation also manifest the fluctuations in the atomosphere , enhancing the soil erosion as well as droughts. Therefore ,farmers are being unabled to grow any yield on the earth so that’s why individuals should save it properly because it is rightly said that “no farmers no food”.

Moving to the solutions, regulatory bodies should impose the legislation to preserve the nature and aware the people through the cyberspace . For example, masses use the public transport rather than personal , factories should be construed in the remote area to save the public from the hazardous ailments . Secondly, government should need to manufacture the more parks and grow many plants so that rate of pollution should be alleviated.

To conclude, although administration enact the rules to protect the environment but people should compromise with the authorities.

  45. Many students find it difficult to pay attention at school.what are the reasons for this?what could be done to solve this problem.

School is a second home for children. But nowadays many pupils face problems such as do not understand lessons, lack of consitration and so on and there are some causes behind it, however every problem have solution. So, my impending paragraphs shall throw a light on both reasons and solutions alon with conclusion.

The prime cause of it, is most of thw education insititution have large number of students in classrooms so pupils did not understand the studies related topics. In other words, this cause also create a problem of noise because of this class discipline not going well and intelligent learners do not like this. moreover, tutors also find it difficult to handle scholars and solve out their issues personally one by one. At present time students learn multiple subjects as well as do many extra curriculum activities which put a lot of burden on pupils’ head. For an example in present children learn theoretical studies as well as attend extra classes like yoga, dance, swimming, singing, instruments playing and many more. So offsprings get confused in all these and go through difficulties at school.

On the flip side, there is a major solution of these problems that school administration draw a line to limitate number of pupils in classes. Further, according to learners’ academic performance school authority should distribute sections of each class. In addition, institute staff should hold meeting twice a week with pupils individualy about their perform in classroom also hear their issues which they face at school.

So, to recapitulate, education authorities want to make learners multi-tasker, which is vital part of them, but they should also look after pupils interest not forced all the things on them, which deviate their interest from schools.

Nowadays, more and more people decide to have children later in their life. What do you think are the reasons for this? Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

A majority of the people prefer having children at many years of marriage, after securing their life financially. Although there are a lot of negatives to this, those are dwarfed by the benefits.

To commence with, one should have a proper career and financially stable to have a delighted family life. Everyone aims to give proper education to children which will not be possible without sufficient wages. So, most people concur to have a child after some years of marriage, to save the money for creating a better environment for them such as kindergartens or international primary schools. Additionally, they should learn how to raise a child before having one. By acquiring sufficient knowledge for teaching the off-springs, they can be more confident. For instance, Vietnam is conducting upbringing courses to educate future parents about those skills before having sons and daughters.

On the other hand, there are some drawbacks to this decision. Firstly, when a baby is born late there are high chances of genetic disorders. In recent researches, it is found that women after the age of thirty-five would be more like to reproduce children with Down Syndrome. This affects a child’s life and all who suffer from it cannot live past sixteen years of age. Secondly, if the parents become old they will not have the health to look after the children. The progenitors will need to depend on other people to take care of the children.

In a nutshell, the people with wealth and background are the core things required for the upbringing and must say advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

  49. question -Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives.
Which viewpoint do you agree with?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

The use of marketing techniques in todays’s business world has became imperative and inevitable . One of these marketing technique is advertisement . It plays a very significant role for every bussiness and brand .

Advertisement for bussinessmen are substantially significant however consumers has different view points on this . There are a large number of people who believe that advertisement prevent them to keep their purchase pertinent . It creates confusion . It is believed that with increse in advertisement , poeple has started to avoid it . Abundance of advertisements has mitigate the importance and desire for the brand because people are conscious about getting fooled before the purchse itself and mostly they end up buying the brands they are using already . For E.g market for Johnson & johnson holds a great place for the baby care consumers . There are other brands too like MEE MEE , Chicoo & mamaearth ets , those I believe are equally good and do splendid advertisement campaigns neverthless consumer still go for Johnson & Johnson to avoid confusion .

On the other hand , there are people those are meraly worried about getting fooled . They believe that advertisements plays an imperative role in selecting the right thing . it offers them option to choose and guide them well . There are people who make sure to watch enough you tube videos or advertisements before making any purchase . They believe that new products or a brand with a great advertisement campaign can be a more useful and better .

Here , I would like to conclude by saying that both the views are partially correct and one should emphasize more on the brand and the services & eradicate the excess reliability on the advertisement campaign. Advertisement might be a pleasure for some shoppers because it ease their shopping experience by offering a lot . however I think that many times advertisement is a pitfall more than pleasure and result in spending more than required .

  51. Q: Parents should spend more time with their children helping them with homework. Do you agree or disagree?
A: Every kid should be assisted by their parents while doing their school works at home. In my opinion, I agree with the given statement because parents in their busy daily routine they will get time to spend with their children and they can able conduct special focus on their academics as well. In the below essay I shall discuss the reasons why parent interaction is necessary for kids.

These days husband and wife threw themselves into a tight schedule whilst ignoring the family time. In this type of scenario, it would be very joyful for the kids if their parents stay beside them while doing their home works. On the other hand, the bond between kids and parents gets strong through their interaction. For instance, according to recent studies, numerous of the kids whose parents are very busy in their professional life, are developing lonely feelings which implies depression. So, keeping that in mind every parent should give priority to their family time.

Most of the children are not performing well enough in their academics due to improper guidance. This is a common problem in families where none of their parents are unable to focus on their kid’s education. Admittedly, when there is proper guidance and help to the children when they are backwards in their studies they might improve for sure. To illustrate, my niece is very poor in his studies until his mother and father helped him and provided essential support. Later on, he never turned back in his studies again. consequently, there is need to give time and required support in academics for every kid in order to give good yields in their future.

To conclude, every individual kid has a right to have some fun and knowledge with their mom and dad while studying. The impact of this might be more on each and every kid regarding their scores in studies and staying happy in life. In addition, giving priority to family time is most essential to every family member especially, with toddlers when they are doing their school works.

  52. It is thought by some that the most concerning problem is how to feed a big number of people as world population is growing, so few people consider that GM foods is a vital solution to tackle this issue. In my opinion, I believe that GM foods can help people as they can grow everywhere around the year and healthy for people organism.

Researches created different types of GM foods and the main feature is that they are adaptable for different weather conditions. Moreover, some GM foods can be planted in desert regions and in poor soil and despite harsh weather conditions, they still can give rich harvest to people. In addition, GM plants grow faster than usual plants and can give crops three or four times a year what is beneficial for people as they can eat different vegetables and fruits within a year. For example, in our country farmers started to plant GM apple trees as a result people can afford to eat them around the year for reasonable price.

Another point to consider is that gene modified foods are not harmful for people’s health. According to recent research GM foods contain the same amount of crucial vitamins and proteins also scientists modified its gene structure and such foods can be saved for longer time. Furthermore, GM foods have delicious taste and people like to eat them also such foods have beautiful appearance.

In conclusion, GM foods can be beneficial for people as they rich with crucial vitamins and can give crops around the year in different weather conditions.

  53. Buying things on the Internet, such as books, air tickets and groceries, is becoming more and more popular.

Do the advantages of shopping in this way outweigh the disadvantages?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

In recent years, digital purchasing has gained popularity across the world. People prefer to purchase things such as clothes, shoes and home appliances online, because it is convenient and cheap. These benefits, however, might not be able to succeed over the cos of traditional shopping.

Compare to traditional purchasing, digital shopping has several benefits. One of the benefits, is its easier to shop online. In past decades, buying just a refrigerator needed one to spend their entire day by visiting several markets to search right product along with its installation. Another benefit is that it saves costs. For instance, to purchase anything offline, one requires to travel from one place to another. Sometimes, moreover, people may not get what they wish for. Thus, online procurement is not only convenient, but it might be also less expensive, since it reduces the travelling expanses.

On the other hand, it does have several cons which one can not neglect. It is observed that people may spend money on unwanted products due to irrelevant advertisements. Furthermore, many people have reported that online sellers do not delivery what they advertised. For example, I order a wooden diary along with a wooden pen but when I received the parcel, it only consists of the dairy. This is the major drawback which questions the credibility of the online shopping.

To conclude, there are benefits of the online shopping such as cost-cutting and convenience which promotes one to opt for it . However, drawbacks like lack of reliability make it hard to prioritize online shopping over tradition shopping.

  54. In the beginning of Cement Production Process, both the limestone and clay are sent into crusher through which a powder is extracted. Later on, the received powder is being entered into mixer which looks like a wide pipe. Through Mixer, the powder reaches the rotating heater where it keeps rotating and heat is added to it. The resulted powder is taken into a grinder and finally cement is prepared. The produced cement is packed into bags for multiple purposes.
The produced cement is used in the process of concrete preparation. An exact 15% of cement, 10% of water, 25% of sand and last but not least exact half of 100% of gravel are mixed in a concrete mixer. The result of this mixer is nothing but a pure concrete. Without making cement, it is not possible to prepare concrete. The last material i.e., gravel are nothing but small stones.
Cement and Concrete are used in constructing building. Just like cement, concrete also goes under some procedure.

Nowadays, the use of advanced technologies makes us more reliable in using it as our way of communication with the people around us. To some individuals, however, they argued that frequent usage of this devices can affect a person’s social and interpersonal life. In this essay, I will discuss the 2 sides and present my perspective view.

It is apparent in today’s present generation that with the use of communication devices it drives us closer to our families, friends and colleagues. Socialization is part of our day to day living in which we convey our thoughts through texts messages, electronic mails, video calls and voice calls wherever we are in the globe.

On the other hand, the use of this technologies has been overly used by most of the people, that even the person is near the usage of this cannot be minimize. What affects most of their being is their interpersonal relationships with other people, as it will momentously reduce the gateway of interacting and socializing.

In my point of view, using this communication devices are helpful in our daily living, specially to those people who work overseas and away from their families. Moreover, amidst this unprecedented pandemic, video calls and voice calls are handful in this time. This is a conduit of connecting from one person to another no matter how distant they are or if they are under quarantine for the give period.

To conclude, more and more modern technologies are manufactured every year, as this contributes more aid to the society by way of linking people across the world. With the appropriate way of handling and using this devices people will be able to equalize between the use of communication devices and socialization with families, friends, etc.

  57. Working conditions today are not the same as before and people no longer rely on taking one job for life.
Discuss the causes for these changes and how should people prepare for work in the future?
    solution:-
With the rapid changes in working environment, number of persons migrate to different organizations frequently than before. The substantial influence of this trend has sparked the controversy over the potential impact in recent years. In my opinion, changes in technology and high living standards can be controlled by managing the day to day expenses and regular up-dations with latest inventions. This essay will further elaborate the negative effects of this trend along with some remedies to solve the problem thus will lead to a logical conclusion

First off, due to globalization, new inventions in field of science and technology has create a nuisance for old employees in an organization. For instance, in earlier times, when culture of use of computers instead of manual work was adapted in business , many has not welcomed the trend. Another pivotal aspect of this argument is that the high living expenses has lead many people with thought of new opportunities with hike in income.

Moreover, steps to deal with this problem are many but the most significant ones are not complicated but accessible and practical. Primarily, every individual must be cognizance of every field, relatively in terms of latest technology and upcoming trends. Moreover , the increasing necessities should be carefully managed by planning and spending on highly prioritized daily expenses.

According to the arguments aforementioned above, one can easily reach to a conclusion that the problem of job shifting can be successfully addressed, provided the unnecessary expenditure and to keep up with industry trends are taken into account.

  59. topic.
Recently, abortion increases rapidly and becomes a controversial topic. Some people suppose that abortion should be legal while others are against it.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
You should write at least 254 words.

In this contemporary era, everyone has become familiar with the concept to abort a child, but it is still a debatable topic. Some people concur that abortion should be legally banned worldwide, whereas others propound that it would be the most effective way to control rapidly increasing human population on the earth. However, how it could be a great idea to increase the load on the earth by increasing population even when parents itself are not in the condition to have one? In my opinion, it would entirely be the decision of the parents to abort or not while, I will discuss both the views in the forthcoming paragraphs.

Adequate evidence are obtainable to substantiate the concept of right to terminate pregnancy for woman. The top-notch concrete reason is that pregnancy may also be a cause of rape or an abusive relationship. Another rationale which hauls me to patron is that if mother is not ready to have a child due to some circumstances then she should have her right to get her abortion done in the early stages of pregnancy. To uphold my notion, I would quote an instance of survey conducted by the researchers of Stanford University, indicates that globally, only 70% of the child population has been taken care by their parents or parent and the 30% of the child are more or less trapped in the juvenile delinquency. Thus, it is clear that child abortion has certainly undeniable pros.

    1. What is half full for some, may appear half empty to others. So, the public in general tend to distinguish that even in the early stages of pregnancy, a life has already started inside the womb, and for the reason it would mean of killing of human life. Withal people with traditional mindset uphold that god will sin them if they abort the child in the womb as it seems to be the destruction of existing form of life.

In recapitulation, I reiterate that there are innumerable strong factors supporting the initiative that abortion should be legal all over the world by giving the right to the mother to terminate pregnancy if they want it. However, its contrary can be overlooked.

  60. You would like to participate in a work-related seminar in another country.
Write a letter to the person in charge of the seminar and ask for detailed information regarding the dates, program, accommodation and cost.

    Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to gain detailed information about the seminar you are conducting on the COVID 19 vaccination of cancer patients in Canada.
I would like to participate in this seminar since I am also conducting the research on the this very topic. This would assist me in my thesis writing.
From the internet, I discovered about this event. However, many details of the event were not released there yet. So, more specifically I would like to know about the duration and dates of the seminar. Also, it would great if you can provide some information about the topics and programs to be covered in this seminar. If you could let me know about the accommodation arrangements and its cost, it will be of great help, as I am coming from overseas. Since it would be my first visit to your country, searching for accommodation and managing the cost of the program would be a challenge for me.
Would you kindly provide me information on the above-mentioned areas? Using all this information I could plan my trip and finances in a better way.
    Thank you for your consideration.

  61. Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives. Which viewpoint do you agree with?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

The impact of advertisements on society cannot be trivialised. Advertisements play a monumental role in shaping society and its lifestyle. Some people concur that advertisements are only beneficial for the MNCs which provoke us to put their products in our cart un-necessarily. However, are really the big companies solely promoting their products to go viral? I strongly believe that one company would only launch a new product or an improved product with a new cost, when there is demand from the target audience.

Adequate evidence is obtainable to substantiate that the concept of product placement in the market. The top-notch concrete reason is that large companies tend to maintain the brand loyalty with their previous customers by offering them the high class demanded products. By being introduced to the product through advertisements, people will not only find the new niche product’s existence but also be sensitised about its importance in their life. For instance, many grocery stores now have pre-packaged lunches available in their stores at different portion sizes for different age groups, so without advertisement they might not know about such a new convenient product.

What is more, advertisements keep us informed about the updated prices of existed products. Prices tend to change all the time, in order that commercial channels and classified ads section from the newspaper keep us updated. In fact, some people buy newspapers only to check upon the latest prices to plan their weekly shopping.

In recapitulation, I reiterate that there are innumerable strong factors supporting the fact that advertisements help us to improve our lives along with the fact that they keep us updated about the present market. Advertisements only promote the products which would benefit the customers.

  62. You took your family to a nearby restaurant. You were disappointed with the meal and wish to complain to the manager. Write a letter to the manager of the restaurant.
    In the letter:
explain why you were at the restaurant
    describe the problems
write about the action you want the manager to take.
    Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the meals and the customer service provided at your restaurant. On 20th May, I showed up at your food court to celebrate my mother’s birthday with my family since it was recommended by my best friend, Lauren, your regular customer.

To begin with, four dinner meals were ordered by my family expected to feel fullness after having meals. Meals, however, had surprisingly very small portion size, more alike the kids portion size even though prices were extravagant. What is more, provided that my elder brother asked for extra sauce, waiter showed him no respect and asked him that he would need to pay extra. They were quite discourteous to us.

I think it would be a great idea if you would either raise the portion size of your meals or decrease the cost. Because I think the prices are too high for the size of the meals being served at your place. Moreover, it will be really appreciated if teach some basic manners of customer service to your employees.
I, however, would like to be your regular customer as I really liked the quality of the food served and the maintenance of hygienic conditions at your restaurant.
    Yours faithfully,
    Bleenn

  63. Should wealthy nations be required to share their wealth among poorer nations by providing such things as food and education? Or is it the responsibility of the governments of poorer nations to look after their citizens themselves?

Recent decades have proven to be a terrible downfall in terms of economy for some of the developing nations. Some people concur that the governments of the underdeveloped nations should solve the problems of their people on their own. However, is it would be the right behaviour of the rich towards poor? I quibble from them and propound that great wealthy nations should of course help their friend nations on the grounds of humanity with the food and education.
Adequate evidences are obtainable to substantiate the concept of helping a poor nation by the wealthy one could bring benefits to both the nations. For example, poor nation may open opportunities for the foreign countries to invest and trade. Wealthy nations may also benefit through the access to their natural resources, and alliance for arm force which again would protect both the nations from their rival countries. In spite of all these benefits, wealthy states should help the ones in debt because they owe some of their prosperity to the poor ones from ancient time exploitation, slavery and colonialism. Needless to say, returning some wealth to the countries which was stolen from them would be the rightest thing to do on the grounds of humanity.
Some people, however, distinguish that poorer nations should resolve their problem by themselves as it should none be the business of the other countries which has multifarious reasons. To commence with, rich nations may take the advantage of their resources which could only prove to be the reason for betterment in their economic conditions. Withal they also uphold that their independence may get in danger by losing the right to make decisions for their own country. For instance, aid that would be provided by wealthy nations may lead to exploitation and may threat the nation of stopping the aid as a way to gain power.
In recapitulation, I reiterate that there are innumerable strong factors supporting the phenomena that assistance provided to the poorer nations would be in the benefit of both nations. In my view, however, poorer nations would be the one with more benefit and get the chance to be debt-free and catch with the ones who are more advanced in every manner.

  64. One of the consequences of improved medical care is that people are living longer and life expectancy is increasing.
Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

The medical advances and techniques are remarkable in most of the countries and nowadays most of the
developed countries spend much more on medical researches. It is believed that almost all the disease
    are curable.

Firstly, disease which were considered deadly in the 1990s such as cholera, small pox and chicken pox are
almost forgotten by most of the people, since vaccination for that is provided in much early age, which is
an remarable achievement. The second main advantage is that, even for genetic disorders and royal diseases
medications are being discovered, and people are saved.Secondly,in emergency health care units much
advanced equipments are used in saving peoples lives. For example, the test reports are provided within
hours which helps the doctors for futher medication and treatment.Futhermore, the cost for treatment is also,
less when compared to decades back and even if the cost of medications for some disease is a bit more,
people can claim the help of insurance providers, and government has itself come forward with many health
    insurance schemes.

Some may thing that this would bring increase in population, where the economic status
of the country will get affected, but there are many ways to stop the growth in population also. However, certain
countries has imposed strict rules on birth control and organising many events
and advertisements which provides knowledge to citizens of the country. On the
other hand,If the population increases, the oppurtunites for the people in all the fields may get
reduced which may increase unemployement rate.

Overall, though there are some disadvantages due to the tremendous development of medical field, these
drawbacks are negligible, and I strongly believe that, medicine and treatment is a basic right to
all human and it is applaudible.

  65. More and more people want to buy clothes, cars and other items with famous brands. What are the reasons? Is it a positive or negative development?

There is an increase in trend with people to purchase apparels , automobiles , mobile phones and many more, that too of reputed and known manfacturers. According to me, assurance of product quality and its assocation with social status are the major causes of this change. At the same time, it has some hidden drawbacks of creating discrimination among the society and unjustified rise of the product cost.

There are always good side to buy stuff from renowned producer. firstly , it assures buyer about the quality of the product by providing post sales services amd warranties , which helps customer in resolving any product related problems. for instance, last year i bought apple wrist watch to monitor my daily activites like heart beat and calorie burn, though there were multiple product available in the market but i want to make sure that, i should have best, which gives quality and assure me its servies. Secondly, it give an edge over others in terms of the status uplifment. People do judge other majorly from their belongings and form perception on that basis. More expensive and branded stuff you carry, more people start tagging qualities in you. Like, In my school, students those wore Nike shoes are considered as trendy and cool because they have a branded stuff, which set them apart from those wearing local shoes. Thus gives a status within the same class and school.

Deep down it causes some serious problems. one problem is of creating discimination among the sociey. people start differentiating between each other because of their posession. It divides society into segments. for example, At the time of buying of car from showroom, a sales representative do give more respect and hospitality to cusotmers, who wore branded clothes and accesories that those wearing and carrying normal stuff. Branding a necessary product sometime making its cost unjustifically high. all essential medical products are necessity for patients and brand do make their price quite high because experts suggest to buy branded product . This will lead to unaccessibility of someone in need and may end with deaths sometimes. For example, during covid 19 , people do by philips oxygen concentraters , which cost them around Rs 80,000, two times higher than the actual cost , thus lead to death of some , who were not able to afford the same .

In conclusion , purchasing an known manufacturer product assures as best of quality and upliftment of status , but i should not cosidered as the cost of setting up difference among the people and accessibililty to few due to its high cost.

Now the machine is very complex, and a lot of difficult work is automated. Do the benefits of machine automation outweigh the drawbacks.
In the contemporary world, machines are taking place of human workers. Numerous heavy and tough works are being done by mechanism. Why the benefits of machines are more? It will be discussed in upcoming paragraph with suitable examples.

To embark on, the technology is developed so much in the world. Sometimes people die in a number of works; for example: -coal mines, gold mines Etcetera. Consequently, if machines take place if these workers, the life danger of persons will be decreased. Moreover, in several Institutes for instance: -schools, hospitals, banks etcetera all the records are contained in computers. They not only work accurate but also contain records for long time. Additionally, machines are stronger than individuals, so they do heavy work at rapid speed and do not feel tired.

In addition to it, if we take the example of hospitals, robotic surgeons do all the surgeries and operations. However, automatic machines do work quick so, people had enough time to spend with their families.

In controversial, the roses do not exist without thorns, similarly it had few demerits. Firstly, man will be unemployed if machines do all their office works. Secondly, sometimes technology like computers get out of order or hacked by hackers, then all the data get erased from them. What is more, insufficient knowledge of machines also cause injuries and accidents; for example: – if a man drive a new technological car, and he does not have knowledge about it, it would cause problems and can become reason of death either.

To sum up, although, it had a few disadvantages. Yet, the advantages of robotic machines cannot be denied. In twentieth century, modern man cannot run without machines even a single minute.

  67. Q. In Some countries, owning a home rather than a renting one is very important for people.
Why might this be the case ?
Do you think this is positive or negative situation?

Undoubtedly, Home has always been very important for all people around the world. In some parts of the world, imperatively people prefer buying shelter over rented accommodation. People work harder to earn money and save it; for later invest in real estate properties so that its family can live there safely and securely. I see this scenario as a positive approach in society.

Firstly, buying a property these days are way too expensive. Trends in real estate and properties are at peak of their economies. There are multiple aspects to be kept in mind when decide to own a home for family. Locality, transport connectivity, healthcare and schools at the reach, network connectivity, vitally, fresh air and clean water, etc. Tariff of infrastructure rises as much as basic amenities are provided by builder. People take all the pain to gain a own shelter so that their family lives comfortably which could not be possible for them in rented home. Buying a home gives them feeling of ownership and security of their future. For example, person can provide his residence permanent address to its family and friends unlike temporary of rented one.

Secondly, this is also important for foreign immigrants and international students, who comes from different countries to work and study. Opportunity grabbers lands to new place where they have start from zero for their survival and growth. Some new foreign immigrants are provided with accommodation by their company and students in university campus. As opportunity arises they move out of their respective provided shelters and buy own house although prices of properties are high. For illustration, People from Punjab in India immigrate largely as resident and student to Canada’s provinces.

In a nutshell, It’s a positive situation as people from various countries migrate and buy home to support their livelihood that eventually boost country’s economies on large scale, Therefore, in some countries owning home is considered as paramount.

  68. The world is experiencing a dramatic increase in population. This is causing problems not only poor, underdeveloped countries but also for industrialized and developing nations.
Describe some of the problems that over population causes, and suggest at least one possible solution.

It is reckoned that in the modern epoch, a significant rise in population is confronted by the world which generates a number of predicaments for underprivileged and poverty- stricken nations as well as for affluent countries. This essay will highlight the pertinent problems of over population and a few potential measures to resolve it.

To initiate with, the prominent problem of overpopulace is that it leads to scarcity of necessary goods such as food, water, accommodation and many more owing to the limited quantity of these items which are produced in developing nations. For instance, UAE is predominantly reliance on other nations such as India to accomplish their requirements, Especially for oil which is the major cause of starvation in a nation. To curb this issue, government should organize the campaigns to aware the masses by showing tha malign impacts of overpopulation and bestow some assistance such as food and clothes items.

Moving to another point, poorer countries usually have a high employment rate. This is because, it is herculean to provide appropriate resources and equipments in underdeveloped nations that bring lack of education which results in a rapid increase of illiteracy rate. However, some prominent steps can be taken by authorities to reduce the overpopulation in the cosmos. They should educate the people to limit the size of the family and ‘one-child policy’ should be adopted by masses which would be proved propitious to decline in the population.

To conclude, if the population explosion continues, more and more people will die of starvation in underdeveloped nations and basic necessities goods would be vanished, however, some remedies like awareness campaigns and adopting the birth control policies will assist to restrict the problem.

  70. Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Universities are considered to be the most reputed and influential educational institute. Some individuals believe that pupils should expertise the area of their own interest whereas a few think that they should be permitted to learn future dominating subjects only. Both the views will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs before heading towards any opinion.

The main reason why people believe that one should study the subject of his/her own choice is that it ensures true knowledge which comes from putting genuine efforts in that field. Moreover, this will make their fundamentals more strong and concepts more clear. To examplify, psychology says that in a particular field, greatness can only be achieved by the true desire and intension of doing a specific deed which can only be done by being interested in it.

On the other hand, it is indeed crucial to have knowledge about the future relevant subjects in order to cope up with the soaring competition for jobs. Furthermore, to ensure a satisfactory occupation in the forthcoming times, students are ought to have a thorough knowledge regarding the highly demanded sector but this can hinder one’s talent. For instance, many engineering students give up on their passion because they don’t get opportunity to polish their skills and talents.

To conclude, regardless of the fact that students should study demanding subjects for their better future, I strongly believe that students should get the privilege to study according to his/her choice so that they can bring out the best in them.

  71. Money is important than job satisfaction. Do you agree or disagree?

It is undeniable that job fulfilment not only improves motivation among the workers, but is mandatory to improves the productivity. I am strongly disagree with the view that a fat income is more significant as compared to the job satisfaction. In the forthcoming paragraphs, I would like to support my view before reaching a meaningful conclusion.

There are umpteen reasons why I believe job gratification is more vital than income. First and foremost is the happiness that only comes with contentment and money does not guarantee it. In simple words, if a person is suffering from health issues or compromising with his life, then no money can bring enjoyment in his life. On the other side, working with a sense of fulfilment leads to escalate happiness. For instance, myriad researchers have chosen their jobs in science field not because of high salary but due to the passion and interest in that particular field. As a result, they are enjoying their life while working. Thus, job satisfaction is most relevance to the happiness in life.

In addition to it, job fulfilment also helps to improve the productivity due to which the overall economy grows. Those who are liking the work whatever they do automatically put more efforts in their work and consequently, they have more chances to excel in their field. A prime example of this is Henry Millen who left his job despite of higher wages because he wanted to be a writer. Due to his passion, he laterly became renowned as one of the best writer in the work. So, I think money does not matter if we really enjoy our work because only the satisfaction can provide us more long term benefits.

In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that job gratification is important than a high salary because it provides us a long term advantages including promotion, a fat wage and many more.

  72. Question: Large companies should pay higher salaries to CEOs and executives compared to other workers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
    Answer:
It is always almost true that people working at higher levels in the private or public sector expect and deserve significant monetary benefits. Many organizations are following this trend and are paying generously to the senior executives as compared to other employees. I firmly believe that this development is positive and can contribute to the overall growth of the company.

Firstly, the people working at senior positions of an organization are normally held responsible for anything and everything. This is because, often most of the duties by the lower-level workers are executed under their surveillance and if the tasks assigned are performed inadequately, managers are the ones who hold the accountability graciously. For instance, most recently an article in the Peoples Magazine described how the design of Tesla’s new Cybertuck is the exact replica of one of their rivals’ automobile and all the fingers were being pointed to their CEO, Elon Musk, who tactfully handled this issue. So, it is safe to justify that the CEO’s of any multi-national organizations should be allowed to earn enough remuneration.

Secondly, almost all the managers and executives have pure wisdom and vision which can only be achieved by hustling for a substantial number of years. The people who are elected for the chair in the board of directors are normally present since day one of the company’s establishment, and hence, they are deep in roots are aware of all the ins and outs of it. It is natural of them to feel and treat as if it’s their own initiative and this motivates them to cover the extra mile as and when required. This makes it obvious that as compared to wage workers, such devoted executives should be offered with great remuneration package for them to feel valued and most significantly cherished asset.

To conclude, in my opinion, the salary packages in an organization should be decided based on the numbers of years of constructive experience and the severity (intensity) of the job role. Since senior-level executives have more strenuous responsibilities as compared to the people who work under them, it is imperative that they are paid more.

  74. Some people say the main way to be happy in life is to have a lot of money.
How might having a lot of money make people happy?
What other things in life can make people happy?

It is undoubtedly true that money is ruling the world today. The wealthier the people, the happiest they are. But, life can be enjoyed through various other means. This essay is an attempt to understand how money gives joy to an individual, and also will look in to some ways where people can find true meaning of life for their benefit.
To begin with, the reason why many people are after making more money is that it offers high social status and popularity in the society. It is an undeniable fact that, opulent people are highly respected in their social circle and have all the privileges to enjoy the luxuries, the world has to offer. This makes their life more enjoyable, as they can go anywhere and do anything at any time. Having mammoth wealth assures that a person can fulfil their dreams and ambitions with confidence. For instance, many a rich people could afford to send their children to abroad for higher educations and secure their life for posterity.
However, money alone cannot buy happiness in life. There are a myriad of things through which man can enjoy life to its extremes. It is said that happiness in life is not in amassing riches, but spending time with friends and family from whom we experience true love. For some, these special relations gives a contentment and satisfaction in life. According to my personal experience, life can be best enjoyed when we do service to others. As such, there are a lot of Social welfare organisations which I have worked for, rendering service to the poor and needy. Moreover, some believe happiness is found in maintaining good health and fitness and involve in various physical activities which keeps them refreshing every day.
In the ultimate analysis, it is right to say that money has got a prominent role to play in fulfilling the desires of people and giving them opportunity to enjoy high rank in the society. But, there are other means to live a contented life such as helping the destitute and spending time with our loved ones.

  75. Many people work for long hours, leaving very little time for leisure activities. DDoes this situation have more advantages or more disadvantages

In today’s competitive world, it is imperative to be aggressive in work place and work industriously to stay employed. This has led to the demand of working for longer hours sacrificing the limited time available for leisure activities. Although working for more time may be a requisite to keep up the job, it will have deleterious effect on the overall wellbeing of an individual. This essay will discuss some of the detrimental impacts on spending less time for personal development.
To begin with, today’s cut-throat competition and rat race for riches, makes one dedicate more time for office tasks. One reason that can be rightly attributed for this cause is, peer pressure to perform best. Many a people stay and work longer than needed just to gain benefits from their superiors. Another reason is that, the job nature itself demands excess working hours. For instance, people working in the energy sector work rigorously to ensure continuous supply of electricity to every household.
However, one should not neglect the effects of curtailing time of one’s personal hobbies. Stress and tension will be on rise leading to serious health repercussions. One of the major setback is that people will not be able to socialize with others which is much needed to get away from monotonous life. For instance, from my personal experience, I have benefited a lot by according time and priority to my personal interests such as sports and fitness activities. It undoubtedly, rejuvenates me and helps me to enliven myself every day.
In the objective analysis, While it is mandatory to work for long and be able to cope with the competition in the current employment scenario, it is also pivotal to dedicate time to enlighten oneself by participating in leisure activities, to avoid mental health issues and getting disconnected from social life

  77. In some countries an increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result of eating too much fast food. It is therefore necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on this kind of food.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Many people around the world are facing health issues caused by the excessive consumption of fast food and thus it may seem necessary to raise taxes on fast food. Personally I believe that people consume fast food despite knowing that it is harmful for health and so it is essential for government to impose a higher tax on fast food. Some people would argue that this may prove to be disastrous for fast food companies around the world and companies like KFC,Dominos and McDonald’s would face huge losses. I strongly believe that apart from increasing tax on fast food governments around the world should also consider educating or informing the people about the adverse effects of consuming fast food. Not only adults but children also face a lot of health issues due to over consumption of fast food. Since it may not be feasible for every government to impose taxes on fast food there for and other alternatives to it would be to encourage fast food brands to develop healthier alternative to fast food,in other words company should develop products which not only tastes as good as fast food but also they do not contain harmful elements such as added sugar and saturated fat etc. In conclusion it has become necessary for governments to take appropriate measures to prevent people from eating fast food and the government can play a vital role in encouraging people to move towards better alternatives to fast food, however how much feasible these measures are can be highly debatable.

  78. Question – Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society.
Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

    Answer
Childern are building blocks of the society. Recently, there is a contentious argument going on whether parents or schools should teach youngster how to be a good members of the society. Both perspectives have their own weight. So a critical evaluation is required before reaching a logical conclusion.

To begin with, children adapt more quickly than other age groups. They tries to act same as the elder ones do. Therefore, parents are with their children from birth and so their every action are closely seen by the children. Furthermore, they replicate the same as their parents do. Parents teach their young one’s how to behave in public and to respect elder people. They teaches not only how to be good member of community but also explain the culture of our society. For instances, in india elder one’s must explain about the importance of tradition and festivals in our society to their children.

As parents play a vital role in children’s future, the same goes to the schools too. The schools not only focus on the academic such as science, math and philosophy but also on how to be discipline in public. Many schools focus on the extra-curricular activities such as how to talk in polite way. For example, japan has the rule that no schools can teach academic subjects to students upto 4th grade. They mostly emphasize on how to be behave in public and how they should take care of their issues.

In conclusion, I take a view that both parents and schools together can make the students’s future perfect. They are interconnected with eachother to make our youngster a better person in life.

  79. IN MANY COUNTRIES PEOPLE DO NOT RECYCLE WASTE MATERIALS SUCH AS BOTTLES AND NEWS PAPERS
WHAT ARE THE REASONS? WHAT CAN BE DONE TO SOLVE?

The increasing population in the world has caused numerous problems with the dumping of debris. It is a prominent fact that individuals show poor interest in recycling domestic items such as plastic containers and newspapers. This essay will elaborate on the two reasons and two solutions as to how the said problem should be addressed in general.

The major reason for not recycling the day-to-day substance is due to a lack of awareness of the public. In other words, the community has no clue as to what might be the consequences, if they recycled those waste and what may be the repercussions of refraining from the same. To eradicate these circumstances public awareness programs should be systematized in both audio and video visual media raising their knowledge such as hanging banners on the road, educating school children through arts and crafts based on this topic. As a result, people may commence domestic recycling, such as making compost fertilizer tanks at their level.

The second factor which has been a lackadaisical approach to the above process is a public inconvenience. That means there are insufficient infrastructure facilities for such a process domestically. Therefore, to address the issue, the government ought to launch a distribution system of free recycling containers enabling them to separate the household throwing. Apart from that, preparation of regional-wise collectors, for instance, people who arrive at doorstep collecting for glass bottles, books-wreckage materials, on the other hand, will generate added advantage of protecting the environment while earning simultaneously.

To conclude, the systematic recycling process might enhance the protection of society if it has been projected in a way both parties can have a win-win situation through successful education, and free subsidiaries from the government. When the society is fully aware the necessity of this, they may quickly absorb and adjust themselves accordingly.

  80. All cars that burn fossil fuels should be banned and electric cars should replace them. Do you agree or disagree?

Burning fossilized fuel in transportation has become a controversy as it has resulted in devastating impact on nature. In order to minimize the said dilemma, the best solution, I believe, is banning them while discouraging through implementing to pay a surcharge, and giving away electric cars which are two crucial points in reducing global warming today.

Global warming, being the major detrimental impact on environment, has directly caused due to the fact that crude oil burning which emits carbon dioxide into the nature in increasing the temperature level. Consequently, disastrous circumstance may generate such as dissolving glaciers in the Arctic continent soaring more and more rain and flooding which might be harmful to the globe in the long run. Scientists, therefore, have warned that unless the countries take necessary precautions to curb CO2 emission, there will be unprecedented calamities in the future. As such it is of paramount importance to minimize the pollution producing more and more electric cars to run in society.

Electric cars, on the other hand, has zero impact on the ozone layer as well as the public health which display smoothness and quietness in operation in comparison with the former. As such, modern automobile companies have decided to switch to modernization of electronic motorcars such as Volvo, and Tesla. To exemplify, France has announced to supersede fossilized oil entirely by 2040 owing the fact that those countries concern the substitutions to the said catastrophe. Considering these facts, it may be crucial to restrict the usage of fueled cars entirely from the environment.

In conclusion, all citizens should have a responsibility to protect the nature by using green gases and omitting petroleum-based energy for transportation. If people can switch to electric cars replacing the other, the world would have been a carbon free place with reduced heat.

  81. it is sometimes said that people should be encouraged to get married before they are 30, as this is best both for the individual and for society.
    Do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, Although people are like to getting married after their 30s, but a number of said that they should be educated to get married earlier and take responsibilities in society. I totally agree with this statement and will support it in further paragraphs.

Firstly, adults will become more motivated in their carries from additional encouragement and support from their partners. This is owing to the fact that as for an adult startups are more stressful in which they require mental and financial support. For instance, In today’s world, there are lots of bills and Study loans they have to work harder to pay them back. As a result, if they get support from their loved ones, they will become less stressed and happier.

Secondly, A thought of Family, planning occurs earlier in their lives. In addition to it, man or woman is highly fertile and active in the ’20s, which makes a perfect opportunity for conceiving a baby. For parents, it is a good cure for their physic distress if a child rumoring here and there. To illustrate, this has been seen in many studies that personal health will improve when they are happy and a child is a great gift for them.

To conclude, It is a great idea of getting married before 30 because it has many benefits to it as from dividing responsibilities to Seek the health of your loved ones. This will in return give you Happiness and joyful life. In my opinion, this is a great idea and people should follow this and take part in society.

  82. In some countries more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in. what are the reasons for this? How can people research this?
In the Present time, it is extremely common to have a desire to know the past about the house in which people live. Reasons can be the human tendency as well as to make sure oneself for safety purpose. This essay will discuss substantial reasons behind this phenomenon and examine the specific methods in order to do research.
One of the main causes for a person to check the information related the building, where they live, is that a curiosity. It is a human nature to go into the depth to find out something. When it comes to their house, definitely people keen to investigate to history, for instance, when it has built? How ancient is the house? As well as who were the ancestors?
From the point of view of safety and security purpose, it can be the second reason behind the research. For example, what was the structural plan of the building? Which constructional materials had been used to build it? Consequently, people can assume, is it still durable or will collapse in the near future.
The house owner can get all the related historical facts and figures through the government municipal office by requesting them. As a result, received knowledge would be accurate and reliable. Moreover, the second method is to satisfy queries by mouth-checking. Landlord can check historical facts by mouth to their neighbors in the community in order to obtain few basic details of the house, for example, why did previous people leave the house, since how long they live there?
Taking everything into consideration, due to the fact of human propensity, it is greatly popular in a number of countries to gather information regarding the building in the people live. Above-mentioned specific steps can be opted to get accurate findings.

  83. The diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words.

The two diagrams shown explain the process of how a wave-energy machine works along with its location respectively.

The first diagram of a wave-energy machine structure briefly explains the working of this electrical plant to produce hydroelectricity followed by the diagram explaining the two different location setups for this machine with a scientific reason along with the output and cost.

It is evident from the first diagram that the electricity generator works only at the right time when the incoming wave direction and airflow matches for the inbuilt turbine to rotate at a speed through the two chambers given, one at the sea level and the other being just above it towards the surface of the sea only to generate hydroelectricity. When the wave gushes in speed from the second chamber along with the speed of airflow from the first chamber then the turbines start swirling at a speed that produces electricity.

There are two location options given for this hydroelectricity plant to be set up. One location is just near the land where the smaller waves hit the surface and the other location is when the larger waves are prone to exist. It is shown that the larger the wave, the higher will be the output which can be said for the cost of installations as well.

  84. Buying things on the Internet, such as books, air tickets, and groceries, is becoming more and more popular. Do the advantages of shopping in this way outweigh the disadvantages? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. You should write at least 250 words.

It is argued that online shopping of articles like books, traveling tickets, even groceries, and almost a lot more things have become extremely famous these days. This essay agrees that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the advantages of online shopping whether it be refraining from being in social settings post covid and optimization of time and efforts prove how these overpower the disadvantage of buying things online which is the oblivion of the quality and authenticity of the product ordered.

The main advantage has a lot to do with the pandemic. It is highly advisable to stay indoors and go outside only in need of an emergency. Therefore, buying things online will save you from going to public places and from the deadly coronavirus. E-commerce has flourished in the past year because of similar reasons. For instance, during this time in India where the third wave is just around the corner, online shopping is a boon in such trying times because one can order anything online and even compare prices from various websites in one place. Secondly, online shopping has encouraged people to utilize their time in the day optimally. They don’t have to spend time and effort to go travel to get to a place to buy that particular thing which eventually leaves you feeling drained out and leaving other important daily tasks incomplete at times. For example. there were travel agents with physical offices that would book your travel/vacation packages but now there are specialized applications for such a thing that helps you discover your mode, dates, and prices effectively, such as GoIbibo, MakeMyTrip, and many more.

On the contrary, the drawback of shopping online is that the consumer is oftentimes unaware of the guaranteed quality and authenticity of the seller which can lead to minimum user satisfaction and other potential online crimes. The consumer has to take a risk to buy things online. For instance, buying clothes online is similar to gambling because the size, quality, and expectations do not meet as it does when you go shopping to the store and try on things before buying them.

In conclusion, there are more advantages of buying things online than disadvantages, and one should always take calculative risks and stay aware of cybercrimes if indulging in e-commerce. Other than that, one can always opt for offline shopping as a mode too!

  85. Traffic jams and long commutes have become the paradigm in big cities. Some people suggest that introducing alternative forms of transportation can help to reduce both of these problems while others affirm that investing in highway infrastructure would generate the same impact.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Traffic problems and extended travel have become a convention in urban areas. Certain people believe that opting for a different mode of commuting will resolve these issues, such as bicycles and adopting a time variation strategy. Others, however, feel that the same result will be produced by spending money on the transformation of highway infrastructure by building underpasses.
On the one hand, in the recent years, bicycles have proved to be one of the best ways to tackle traffic problems in the urban areas. Since bicycles are considered to be a flexible way of passing through traffic, people can utilize them to commute to through various towns. The use of bicycles also protects the environment from the smoke that is emitted from motor vehicles. According to a recent traffic article in The Dawn News, the use of bicycles in Model Town has declined the rate of traffic jams by 80% within a week of its use, as compared to other areas of the city.
Additionally, the time period at which a person generally drives their vehicle should be altered. In large cities, it has been observed that people usually commute, either in the early mornings or the evenings, due to their office schedules. By adjusting their office times adjacent to the other offices in the same area, the issue of traffic jams can be overcome. For instance, in my school days, every class was dismissed at a distinct time frame, this approach allowed the students to exit the premises in an orderly fashion.
On the other hand, traffic will run more smoothly by building underpasses on highways. As the purpose of an underpass is to provide a one-way path to the vehicles on highways, this eliminates the chances of a traffic jam which is usually caused by vehicles coming in from all directions. This also reduces the chance of road accidents, as most of them takes place due to the irregular movements of traffic. This strategy has proven to be useful in numerous countries that include, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.
In conclusion, although underpasses are a good way to inhibit excessive road traffic but the use of bicycles and a change in the timings of personnel, residing in the same area prove to be more useful. In my opinion, bicycle usage and diversity in employees’ timings prove to be a more plausible method than the construction of underpasses to restrain traffic.

  86. Some people think that it is always advantageous to buy local products rather than those made in other countries. Do you agree or disagree?

In this contemporary era, globalization is ubiquitous and social media has exaggerated things to buy from the international market. Some proponents believe that it is a positive point to purchase goods that are localized or made in a nation whilst opponents argue that foreign products must be bought. I agree with the former notion, and this essay will articulate agreement points in the forthcoming paragraphs.

Firstly, it is beneficial to buy products which are produced nationally or regional as it will increase demand and save some art from vanishing. To exemplify, handloom weaving in India is on the verge of extinction and the predominant reason for it is because of international trade and expanding demand in the market for the same due to internationalism. Thus, purchasing such hand-made goods will result in undying of such arts and will proliferate demand in the nation which can save conventional artists from substituting their skills for employment.

Another point to consider is that it is pivotal to buy food items that are regionally sold rather than international, as it is affordable. To epitome, importing vegetables and fruits from other countries will raise the price of it as tax is added to it. As a consequence, it will be exorbitant to buy by destitute or middle-class people. The same fruits and vegetables can be bought at extremely fewer prices from local vendors. Hence, locally produced items will lose popularity among citizens. As a result, it will have a negative impact on the nation’s economy.

To recapitulate, I completely agree that local products and fundamental amenities should be bought from the country itself compared with foreign products. As there are more drawbacks to the economy and job opportunities to localized individuals of the nation.

  87. New technologies and ways of buying and selling are transforming the lives of consumers. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

In this advanced world of technological wonders, new methodologies have changed nearly every aspect of human life. One of the example is, the field of retail. Many consider that new ways of exchanging goods are transforming the lives of consumers. I completely agree with that; end-users life has become a lot convenient due to the use of internet in shopping.

Firstly, consumers now have options from all over the world. Sellers from even remote places can sell their products to the majority of the worldwide population. Due to this, now small, family-based companies can compete with large corporations on the same platform. This then results in the availability of good quality materials at affordable prices, which is always a plus point for the end-users.

Secondly, you as a customer get a hassle-free shopping experience. Without leaving the comfort of your home, you can get anything delivered to your doorsteps, be it a small thing as a water bottle or a huge washing machine. Also, due to the option of faster deliveries, a person can get the product shipped to him/her within a single day. For instance, tech giants like Amazon have the special one-day delivery option on your shopped cart. And in case if someone does not like the purchased product, they can always return or exchange it without much effort.

So, to conclude, new technologies have indeed changed the method in which things were sold and brought. Now everything is just a click away, and I am sure that has made life much more simpler.

  88. Nhật Tân lk25

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Learning about the past has no value for those of us living in the present.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

It is argued that time should not be spent on Historic lessons and researchs, as those are unbeneficial for the people in the modern society. Personally, i think researchs and lessons about history are worth spending time on, as well as the other.

On the one hand, studying history help us to avoid mistakes made by the previous, such as The Bach Dang river fight. If the Chinese people study their mistake made in the previous fights, they wouldn’t have lose to Vietnam 3 times in the same way. Plus, history also provide a wide range of culture. Understanding not only the mother culture, but also other countries’ cultures help improve friendship. In addition, studying phenomenons in the past bring an enormous amount of data to aid predict the future. How would we know that the universe is wide, unlimited and expanding non-stoply if we do not study the space above us in different times?

On the other hand, math and physics is fundamental in those researchs, so learning different fields is also important. such revolutionary machines like the television would not be existed if science was not fucused or buildings will find it self collapsed if it has not been for geomistry, chemicals as toothpaste or medications won’t be available if no one learn it.

In conclusion, It is clearly that every field is important and worth to be learned. For humanity development, human must analize every aspect of life including the past and the other, i believe value lies in the past.
    thank you OwO

  89. Task 2: Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it.
Discuss both views and give opinion

Advertising plays a major role in enhancing the sale of every company. Whereas some people think that advertising influences people into purchasing products, others believe that advertising is no longer useful to attract potential buyers because of its ubiquity. In this essay, I will explain both opinions and why I agree with the former statement.

On one hand, some people assume that advertising is failing due to its common appearance. Advertisements are one of the most basic and effective tools for companies to increase their sales. It seems that some have overused this tool by bombarding customers with ads on every possible media ranging from film, television to street posters and banners. Consequently, some people become extremely anxious and annoyed by these same images of products repeating nonstop in their daily life. It is usual to see pedestrians ignoring sellers handling posters and brochures about new goods and services.

On the other hand, I wholeheartedly believe in the success of advertising because of its impact on people’s lives. Contrary to the common belief, ubiquity is one of the success indicators in advertising as it helps imprint the advertisement inside potential customers’ minds. With people becoming familiar with the product, it can easily beat other competitors in the battle for customers. For instance, if a person is looking for a fast food restaurant, they would prefer Popeyes, a brand that continuously advertises their new combo, to Texas Chicken, a newcomer in the market with few advertising activities.

In conclusion, although it is reasonable for people to think that advertising is no longer useful because of its common appearance, I totally believe that advertising is incredibly successful in getting customer attention for the same reason.

  90. One world language. Advantages and Disadvantages

It is a well known fact that English is now the most commonly spoken language in the world, owing to factors such as globalization, tourism and advanced education. While this makes the geographical barriers disappear and unites people of different communities, it also threatens the existence of local languages. In my opinion, unity among different people and the ability to connect different geographies for ease of business and living clearly outweighs the disappearance of cultural aspects of language.

The need for one world language and unity among people demonstrates its importance very often in the modern times. Language barriers often translate into communal barriers creating rift between groups of people. For example, in certain areas of the world, locals deliberately speak native language to alienate tourists. They simply want to demonstrate the importance of language and in the process leave the opposite person awkward and their own image tarnished. Hence it is better to have one language across the earth and have better harmony between different ethnicities.

Language is at the very Crux of any culture, it reflects heritage that might have taken thousands of years to develop and cultural preservation is given great importance by each sect of people. For example, the Telugu speaking communities have organizations in countries where they settle exclusively for teaching Telugu. Seeing their mother tongue fade away with time can prove painful for such people as more and more of their kin adapt English.

Every year, we see hundreds and thousands of people migrating to other countries, be western or eastern, we see people trying to establish businesses and make a living or just travel. Having a common tongue to interact with the business environment can make things far less turbulent than having to learn a new language or misinterpret something crucial. Although they might be missing something great in terms of experiencing local language, human beings will still be on the winning side if there was to be a one world language.

  91. In the past important knowledge of culture and history was stored in the museums. Nowadays information is freely available on the internet therefore is no need of museums. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Museums preserve our cultural history. However, the invention of technology, such as the Internet provides a chance that people can explore our past history free of cost without going to the museums. In my view, to a large extent, I agree with the topic, but, in some way, it may backfire as well. The essay will anticipate certain facts and illustrations to support my viewpoint before coming to a conclusion.

This paragraph will highlight how the Internet helps us in exploring the past history details without visiting the physical museum. Firstly, museums open for visitors only in day hours, so for some individuals, it is hard for them to get knowledge about the culture and its history. Hence, with the help of the Internet, anyone can surf their own or other culture’s history anywhere and anytime, they do not have to waste their time by going there and collect details. To cite an example, now, it is possible for working employees that they can expand their knowledge by searching on the Internet and get vast information at their own time without going to the actual museum.

Apart from that, people can adapt limited details about their cultural and traditional history in museums. However, they can not only receive a huge amount of information via the Internet but also save costly entry ticket fees. Hence, shut down the doors of museums permanently will be a fruitful step.

On the other hand, generally, museums kept historical events proofs, which could not possible to experience it without visiting there. Thus, we can not feel real experience by watching just photos and videos on the Internet websites. As a result, sometimes people cannot satisfy themselves. For instance, one cannot feel a live experience after exploring some historical monuments images and video clips, such as Taj-Mahal, Kutubhminar, Red-Fort, and many more on the Internet.

To conclude, even though it may affect negatively to some extent, its benefits outweigh its drawbacks. Therefore, I believe that there is no required museums in a country.

  92. Some say that parents should encourage their children to take part in organised group activities in their spare time. Others say that it is important for children to learn how to occupy themselves on their own.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Indeed , childhood is the best part of human life. A vital activity should be taught to children by their parents. Many commentators are of view that children should be encouraged to participate in group activities, while others claim that how to help themselves is very important for children. In this essay , I will discuss about both views belongs to this topic with suitable examples and certain reasons in upcoming paragraph.

To embark , one of the most significant reason is that group activity offers people and children the opportunity to try a new work without making a long term commitment. During childhood , it is a great way to gain different experience in new realm .For example , students should do a team work instead of other kind of work, which is done by lonely. Adults should be inspired by their parents. Owing to this children can get the best experience and gain new ideas and trip as well as methods that how can the best work and how to get success in the very first time. Communication skill is improved by group activitiy. Children can be capable to do some important work, which related their filed. Not all work should be done in a group ,but some activities must be done by one child or individual as well .

On the flip side , it is very important that how to occupy on their own. Due to modern era , many unrealistic activities are running on network platforms. Children are using for this kind of work. Students should stay a conscious that another person should not consume of children and their own in worse matter. Moreover , this information is crucial for children. As an epitome , technologies are moving forward in the contemporary era . Hence , children are being used in illegal activitiy. The government can establish rules and regulations to prevent such work. In addition , familiar person should be expanded an awareness about bad matter.

To arrive at an acceptable abbreviation , as far as I m concerned that children should be interested in group activities through encouragement of their parents and they should also remember that their use is not done by someone

  93. Children who are brought up in families that do not have large amounts of money are
better prepared to deal with the problems of adult life than children brought up by
wealthy parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Nowadays there is a huge argument between people that children from financially
restricted families are at a better chance of coping up with problems in later life and thus
succeeding in life than the children from rich background. However, I strongly believe that
rich kids have better chances of surviving well and hence succeeding in later life.

Children brought up by wealthy families have less chances of succeeding in life.
one of the core reasons is that they have a strong backbone meaning that they have their
parents on whom they can rely for support even if they fail or face any drawbacks thereby
putting them on the straight path once again. Thus they depend less on themselves and more on
their parents. unfortunately if the family faces financial crises and the whole tide turns upside
down then it is these children that have no idea from where to start and what to do in life.
because getting into the real world and making your name is whole another level thing.

On the other hand children with poor families have greater chances of succeeding because they
know they have to strive harder to achieve their goals and need to start from the very
scratch. they have been raised in such conditions that they know nothing is easier in life and they
need to strive to become something. getting accustomed to difficult and harsh conditions makes
it easier for them to deal with the world and be happy for what they have .

Thereby, I agree that children from low income families are at a better of striving and accomplishing
success in life because of the harsh realities and conditions that they have already adapted to.

  94. It is becoming increasingly popular to have a year off between finishing school and going to university. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this?

Taking a yearlong break has recently risen in popularity among the students who have recently graduated from high school. This essay will highlight the benefits and drawbacks that resulted from such an approach.
Looking firstly at the positives, one significant advantage is that taking a gap year will free up a considerable window of time that can help students find their real interests and at the same time become more competent for high quality colleges. At high schools, the students’ interests are often determined based on theoretical contents while having little information of the real world. By participating in some relevant activities like internship, they can gather more practical information by acquiring some hands-on experiences and developing sophisticated skills in the interested area. By doing so, they not only can make sure of their real-world passion, but also can compete for a college ranked higher globally.
On the flip side, however, this break does present some problems, the most obvious of which are wasting their time or becoming discourage to further their education. In regards for the former, this gap year, if not managed properly, might lead to students wasting their precious time. As for the latter, if they fill a vacancy where they could earn their livelihood and make acceptable amount of money, they might feel less enthusiastic about continuing their education and consider it unessential. The faster the students start their tertiary education, the higher probability of them shifting their concentration from education to other activities.
In conclusion, despite the benefits of developing sophisticated practical skills and thus possessing better competencies, the drawbacks of becoming discourage or taking a futile gap year should also be taken into consideration.

  95. You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic: Some people think that hosting an international sports event is good for the country, while some people think it is bad. Discuss both views and state your opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. You should write at least 250 words.

It is thought that hosting international sports event is beneficial for the particular country. Although games can be entertaining for
countless reasons, it can result to be a finanical burden on the hosting country. In my opinion, a controlled hosting of international sports can be both entertaining and manageable by the country’s annual budget.
Arranging any international event can be financially draining be it dance, music or sports. An international sports event, however, more often than not, prooved to be exorbitant. Reason majorly being the arrangement of euquipements required for a particular event and sports does not wind itself up with a single play. It has plethora of subdivisions. For instance swimming, basketball, tennis, baseball and the list goes on. Each game requires different equipements.
On the other hand, international sports event can also benefit and profit the host country predominantly as a tourist attraction spot.
Conducting a constrained international event can be reduce the financial exhaustion on the host country. Rather a frequent event, a limited one not only proves to be lucrative for the country but also increases the audience’s excitement ten folds. Moreover, different countries across the globe can take turns on organizing and hosting the event. This brings down the overwhelming amount of load on a specific country. The Olympics conducted every four years couldnt be a better example to support the discussion. It has an exemplary frequency of occurance, as mentioned, once in every four years. In addition, countries take turn to host the wonderful event hence not only giving the previous host country ample time but also cutting down it’s burden
In conclusion, an international sports event can be financially drowning. Nonetheless, it also has it’s own perks when managed with geniune governance.

  96. For most people, when they get their first job they have an idea whether they will continue to work in the same organisation for their whole life. A number of people serve in the same entity throughout their career, while remnants believe that serving various organisations will result in advancement of their career, Both points will be discussed for reaching the reasoned conclusion.

On the one hand, there are people who devote their entire career to a single organisation. The main reason for this is the stability and job security which can be achieved by working at the same place for a longer time. In addition, the reputation of dependability and credibility is earned by an employee working under the same boss and is entitled to make various crucial decisions. For instance, a friend of my father has been working for the same company for over 10 years, considering his loyalty and knowledge for the company he has been promoted to the post of head of operations.

On the other hand, some people find it complacent to work under the same organisation as they get used to changing various companies and work under different job titles. Along with learning and number of operational skills and building professional experience which they can add on to their resume, it is easier to make a career choice when one has a set of experience from different companies. In recent research, it is found that an employer who has worked in a number of organisations has more set of skills than the one who has worked for the same organisation over his career.

In conclusion, it can be assumed that sticking to one company can offer a fast growth in career, whereas altering companies can benefit professional and personal growth of a person. In my opinion, shifting companies is a good option which leads to a prosperous life as long as it is planned carefully.

  97. Some people say the main way to be happy in life is to have a lot of money. How might having a lot of money make people happy? What other things in life can make people happy?
The truly blessed person is a happy person. It is contended by some individuals that the key reason for joy is having a lot of money. In this essay I will explicate the reasons to lead a happy life.
To begin with, one key factor to lead a happy life is money. Earning high income may help to an individual in various ways. Firstly, one tends get an elementary need along with a luxurious life. In addition, nowadays, most of the entertainment shows are very expensive which cannot be afford by poor people. For example, attending a live concert by a pop star is nightmare for low-income residents but it is a basic thing for a rich person because it is very little amount for them. As a result, they can attend the shows and it as an absolute joy for their eyes which makes them happy.
Secondly, there is a saying that health is wealth. Money helps in getting the good heath treatments. Certainly, rich people might get good health treatment for expensive diseases as they can bare the cost of the treatment which leads the person to be a healthy and happy person.
Despite having a lot of money to be happy, however, there are certain things which gives the happiness and joy. Obviously one of them is family. Spending quality time with family members and going out for small picnics strengthen their bonds and relationships. Altogether, which gives happiness to people.
In conclusion, although money is one of the reasons for happiness as it gives extraordinary life with full of entrainment, it seems to me that there are various things which makes people to be happy such as family.

  98. Online education is becoming more and more popular. Some people claim that e-learning has so many benefits that it will help replace face-to-face education soon, but others say that traditional education is irreplaceable. Discuss both views and give your opinions.

It is supposed that e-learning is more beneficial than face-to-face education, other people believe that traditional education couldn’t be substituted. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give some opinions.
On one hand, online education has more plus points than the traditional one because of the following reasons. First and foremost, it is convenient for both students and teachers when they are online. To be more specific, they only need to have a smart device with an internet connection to attend the class everywhere. Second, introverted students could take a good chance to become more confident when expressing their ideas about the lesson. It makes sense that when learning online, those students aren’t watched and judged directly by their friends and teachers. As a result, they won’t feel bewildered and embarrassed.
On the other hand, face-to-face education couldn’t be replaced by e-learning on account of the following reasons. First of all, when online, students are easily distracted from their studies by pleasures stuffs such as playing games, watching movies, … It is because when at home, teachers can’t control all the personal activities of their students. Next, traditional education can help students develop their soft skills. When attending the class at school, students must come into contact and interact with their buddies and tutors. Consequently, their communication, teamwork, and group work skill will be improved.
In conclusion, both outlooks of online education and traditional one are mentioned. I’m of the opinion that we should combine e-learning and traditional way to optimize the education for students. It is supposed that e-learning is more beneficial than face-to-face education, other people believe that traditional education couldn’t be substituted. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give some opinions.

  99. The birth rate in most developed countries is predicted to begin to fall over the next 50 years. By 2030 it is estimated that over one-third of the population in most developed countries will be aged 65 and over. What effects will these predictions have on developed countries if they prove true? What can be done now to deal with this situation?

Birth rate reduction in developed countries could be a crucial concern in the following years. This concern along with possible solutions will be exemplified in the following essay for the sake of clarity.
The most vital aspect of this matter is losing the young workforce. It is obvious that the more the birth rate falls over, the less youth population will be in near future. This may cause more strain on the society in terms of providing pension and healthcare for elderly people. One possible solution could be increasing the income tax for younger people and providing private healthcare systems which individuals could put money into when they are younger. I believe that some countries, such as Australia, have been successful in changing these regulations to lessen the economic pressure on the government.
It is also perceivable that the birth rate reduction could cause the society to lose its power, since there is no youth to bring hope, happiness, and even modern technology and knowledge into place. Thus, the whole society will experience disappointment and people gradually would pass away which results in losing the society’s power, both politically and economically, as the young population plays a key role in bringing power to any country. This could be overcome by some minor alteration in migration policies, so that the government could attract more young people selectively based on its needs and concerns. A good example of this solution would again be Australia, and introducing a new global talent visa which attracts the most talented and skilled young people to this country with the potential to do prestigious jobs.
Overall, birth rate decrease could cause many problems for the society, namely, the reduction in the workforce and the economic and political power of a country. To overcome these problems, however, any government could alter some of the policies in terms of tax, healthcare and migration.

  100. Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

It is commonly believed that the action of individuals would do nothing good to the environment and only the authorities and big cooperation can give a huge impact. I highly disagree with the statement made above which seems like the assumption was brought up by only looking at the social positions.

First of all, each citizen can educate themselves regarding this matter, which will lead to the pressure given to the national management and successful businesses. For example, by having campaigns and protests. Although, it can’t be assumed that these powerful people will listen, but people should not underestimate the power of locals in pushing these higher position people and companies to take some actions saving the environment.

Secondly, if each person do something for the surroundings, this would equal to a large number of people. As a result, those helpful gestures would lead to huge impactful changes take place consistently, for instance, if a neighbourhood is planning to have an Earth Day, that will take a big group of people lending their hands to contribute. While it can’t be argued that the government and large organizations hold bigger impacts, we cannot disregard the fact that citizens play a vital role in this subject as well.

In conclusion, some people have a good point when mentioning that the higher people and cooperations can make a different. However, individual citizen can deliver a good amount of pressure towards these authorities while coming together as a community to ‘walk the talk’ in protecting the environment. Otherwise, most of the people will keep their mouths shut and no efforts were put to help this matter at all.

  101. More people decided to have children in their later age than in the past. Why?
Do advantages of this outweigh disadvantages?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

In recent years, a large number of people prefer to build their own little family when they are a little bit older. Considering there are different kind of reasons such as not wanting t have a heavy responsibility at a younger age or simply wanting to enjoy their marriage life first. This essay will argue that this decision will lead to more benefits rather than drawbacks.
It cannot be assumed that choosing to have children in their later age will drown their energy significantly. As people may be aware, taking care of babies or toddlers require a lot of energy as they need our full help and attention. As a result, the parents would exhaust themselves easily considering their age at that point.
However, there are number of advantages for choosing to have a child later in their period of life. Referring to a subject mentioned before, it is important for fathers and mothers to give their full attention to their children. if they have decided not to have one yet, they can avoid additional stress. For example, the mother can only focus on her job without having to worry about stress that causes by youngsters.
Furthermore, the key advantage is that the parents can pursue their career first, which will lead to a good financial situation in the long-run. It is vital to consider family planning prior to deciding whether to have an infant or not, since the process of growing them up is rather expensive. Therefore, it is better for them to achieve financial stability. In contrast, there are some children who do not get the opportunity to experience any type of education due to shortage of money.
In conclusion, I do believe that the advantages of having children later in life outnumbered the disadvantages as they can avoid non-work-related stress easily and growing household’s funds simultaneously.

  102. In recent years, the family structure has changed, as well as family roles. What are the changes occurring? Do you think these changes are positive or negative?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Nowadays, there are some changes took place in the family unit as well as their functions. In this essay, will examine those changes in detail and whether the differences are beneficial or harmful.
It is perceivable to mention that the first change is that the grandparents live separately rather than living together with their grown-up children. During older eras, the grandparents used to move into the household, so that that can help with family’s matter such as babysitting. Other than that, women in the family usually have careers now, especially if she happens to be ambitious. For instance, research shows that the rate of female employees in recent years have increased 35% compared the 1900s.
It cannot be argued that there are numerous positive effects that was resulted from these changes. The females gain more freedom as they do not have to depend on their partners, in terms of financial. They are also open to more job opportunities which can develop their skills. However, it cannot be disregard that these new things has resulted to the feeling of isolation in the grandparents as they can get lonely. Another key impact is that they do not get the chance to help their families, whether in the form of child care or chores.
In conclusion, it is acceptable to say that these changes in the family structure and roles, such as women’s contribution in jobs prospect and grandparents living at their own house, resulted to different outcomes. These can be positive such as women could obtain more freedom and increase in future job opportunities, whereas the drawbacks are the elderly can gain loneliness and forbid them to offer some help.

  103. People living in large cities have to face many problems in everyday life. What are those problems?
Should the government encourage people to move to regional towns?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

In daily life, the locals living in the city have to face a number of problems and some opinions stated that the authorities should encourage them to move to suburbs. This essay will describe some of the problems that the locals face and options that the government should address them.
In large cities, there would be many distractions that the people would have to face especially the noises made due to the heavy traffics and the big group of people. Furthermore, they have to handle the bad air pollution that comes from transportations. As we are already aware, there are a lot of transportations being used in cities for the people to travel from one place to another. Due to this, the production of carbon dioxide or CO2 can pollute the air that they breathe in. This could lead to serious diseases especially for those who have asthma.
Because of the above problems, the government should consider persuading the people living in the cities to move to alternative places such as suburbs or countrysides. In those regional areas, it is believed to be more peaceful since those regional towns are not that busy due to the number of locals are less than those who live in the cities. Other than that, regional towns have better air since there might be less mechanical transportations being used. For example, in the suburb and countryside areas, most of the citizens would walk or cycle to go places.
In conclusion, problems that the people in big cities have to handle are quite serious, with one of them can lead to heavy medical attention. Due to this, I believed that the higher authorities should provide alternatives for those people.

  104. A person’s worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust, no longer seem important.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
    Write at least 250 words.

In recent years, it is commonly said that excellent traits such as honour, kindness, and trust are useless, as now people usually pursue someone depending on their social status and wealth. However, I strongly disagree with the statement made as the values of an individual shape them to be decent human beings.
First of all, the idea of judging someone based on their social position and fortune is overall undependable. Just because they came from a rich family, it doesn’t make them worthy people. For example, there are many politicians that have gotten a bad reputation for their actions. Although most of the people have a stereotype that if the person comes from a highly educated family unit, it means that he or she is a nicely behaved person. However, everything can be fake.
Other than that, I believe that people’s values that they carry with them will stay forever, whereas their popularity and richness will be over once they pass away. It is preferable to be remembered as someone that was highly respected due to their attitude and behaviour, not money. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy the wealth, however, people usually love to be known for their valuable traits.
In conclusion, it can be argued that people will notice more worth in money and status since these items can be seen physically. However, they should realize that ‘a hidden gem’ would get appreciated more since it is hard to obtain. These values cannot be seen but to be experienced.

  105. Many young people change their jobs and careers more often. What the reasons for this? Do you think the advantages overweigh the disadvantages?

In today’s contemporary world, the youths switch jobs and careers more frequently than in the past. There are plethora of causes for this tendency. This essay will discuss the number of factors responsible for this and also outline the merits and demerits.

To start with, job satisfaction plays a pivotal role in the decision of switching profession. The main reason for hopping jobs is that the work done by young generation is not recognised or appreciated by their seniors. They do not feel motivated to perform better in the post held by them. Therefore, they are not satisfied in working with that organization. In addition to this, their firm does not pay them adequately as per the industry standards which could the possible reason to look for a new occupation in other firms. For example, the salary of a manger in a bank can be anywhere between 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh a month. If they do not draw this pay package, they look out for other options.

Now let’s look at the pros and cons of this thinking of hopping jobs. Firstly, due to advent of technology, there are various latest techniques that the youth may get to learn and thus, acquire new skills. The second advantage would be that due to good salary package, they lead a high standard of living. This way they feel content in their position. The only disadvantage I can think of this that the working hours in current firm could be more than their previous one. This would give them less time to bond with their families.

To conclude, the benefits overshadow the drawbacks and hence, there are more positives for job switching.

  106. Some people are stating that the main reason behind the environmental problem was the expiration of particular species of plants and animals Meanwhile, others said that there are a lot more important environmental issues behind that. The major cause for nature getting affected is not only the loss of species but also the usage of more plastic and cutting of plants as well.

Firstly if there is damage to nature then fall of some main species and animals will be one reason behind that. We can not say that is the only reason for a disaster of the environment. There will be more situations and this is one among them. Because year by year if genus of trees and creatures are getting expired then it will affect the future generations. Whenever there are lush green forests and animals will be more than the surroundings of nature will be good.

Secondly, there are much more reasons behind the environmental problems. Usage of heavy plastic will definitely affect the oceans and it will cause the effect shortage of rains. If there were no proper rainfalls then it affects the cultivation and forests. In those conditions surely we will see the damage of our surroundings.

Finally to conclude, In my opinion, just the loss of particular species will not be the only reason for the damage to the surroundings. By keeping our nature clean and green as well will make our environment neat then there won’t be any kind of environmental problems.

  107. Some people think that success is the best measure of intelligence whilst others think that intelligence cab be measured in other ways. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is often argued that, an individual’s intelligence can be evaluated by his or her success in life, while some people believe that apart from success, there are many factors to measure intelligence. In my opinion, success is not only indicator of being intelligent. In the following essay, I will discuss this idea further.
To begin with, there are many factors indicate successful people, such as who be able to cope with challenges and learn from failures. It is often seen that; resilient people tend to be more successful whether they are intelligent or not. This is because this people able to adapt to different circumstances. For example, a study conducted in London revealed that 85% of the successful entrepreneurs successed in life after many years of tireless work and determination. Therefore, brain power requires other factors too instead of only one parameter.
Furthermore, there are various tests available for measuring the intelligence such as formal tests at school and IQ tests. However, they do not guarantee the success of smart people. According to a recent survey at University of Florida, around 20% of the people who have IQ greater than 150 were successful. In addition, outstanding students of medical schools do not be successful doctor in medical practice just because of their high scores at school. Thus, those who achieve in life do not only have intelligence, but other factors contribute to success.
In conclusion, in my opinion, being intelligent is not sufficient to be successful but it is the combination of a number factors such as hard work, dedication and resilience.

  108. Hank Phạm (Phạm Quốc Anh)

Topic: Some people think the main purpose of education is to make individuals useful to society; others say education helps them to achieve personal ambitions. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

For many people, reasons for education seems very uncertain. Whilst a part of people believe that education is important for individuals to be effective to the humanity, others suppose the wish of this to gain their own ambitions. To my point of view, education makes better role in benefiting the public than their personal dreams.

From my perspective, I hold a strong conviction that education makes vital aspects of society. As everything they learned from school becomes helpful to their own, universities can find good students meeting their requirements, thereby receiving more training to make a good community. Additionally, that knowledge can turn into useful for dealing with a crisis. To illustrate, trained first aid teams and doctors, who access the territory having faced an earthquake or a flood, can rescue a lot of people.

On the other hand, people who believe that knowledge can help reach their own purposes have to consider again, since there are many downsides to this goal. Firstly, education can lead to bad habits, given the fact that they use their knowledge for their conspiracy, leading to the bad and unsafe public. Moreover, inadequate education can cause a lack of people’s awareness of the required things. In particular, some people don’t pay their necessary taxes just due to not being taught about the roles of tax, in addition to their willingness to make much more money without doing so. Finally, education can damage not only many citizens’ thoughts but also separate people’s ones. For instance, people who don’t have a scheme of harming their nearby neighbourhood may do the same plot for killing only one people.

To conclude, even though education takes effects on the citizenship in some ways, the aim of education is more significant because it is better for the civilization’s consciousness. Hence, teachers should concentrate more on this purpose rather than separate people’s goals.

  109. Children are generally more successful in foreign language studies than adults. Thus, it is better to learn languages in childhood.
Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Some believe that children who learn foreign language at early age, performs better in studies later in their life, while others are of the opinion that those which master it later in their life, produce exceptional achievements in academic career. This essay will entirely agree with the statement, as grasping another speech assists an individual in developing superior linguistic skills with the least effort along with improved cognitive abilities.
Absorbing an additional tongue from childhood gives an extra advantage as it help pupil to comprehend it in the easiest way. At early stage, child learning curve is exponential, and he learned it as fast as he mastered his mother tongue. This helps him in comprehending dual lingo with no effort. Moreover, he will be more fluent as the time passes by as he has been practising it for years or decades. It has been estimated by Cambridge University that those who study additional language in childhood matches with the fluency of native speakers. My cousin pursued English in her childhood, and now she has been selected as a teacher in University of Sydney from among 5 local Australians.
A second notable point is added cognitive abilities in a child. Having a knowledge of bilingual accent is an indication of high IQ level with finer analytical skills. Those, proficient in two speeches have well critical thinking and have advanced or developed problem-solving skills. It has been conveyed by Cambridge University that those which have knowledge of two sounds performs one step ahead at Physics and Mathematics.
In a nutshell, early learning of another language develops fluency, which helps to perform exceptional in that sound later in life. Moreover, improved brain capacity added another advantage to it.

  110. Some people opine that older people should live with their children while others believe that they should live in old age homes which are specially built for them.I firmly believes that old people should live in old age homes.
To begin with, there are sevral reasons because of which old people should live in old age homes.First and foremost, old age homes have special and educated staff. To explain,in old age houses old people are looked after by the staff having the specialised course of care taking. They have all the knowledge to handle these old people with care and love while the adult children of these people often feel frustrated on them.Hence, old age homes give proper care and respect to old age individuals. Moreover, old people do not feel depressed and lonely in care taking houses. To elaborate, in these houses there are many individuals of same age so,they generally spend time with each other while most most of the adults leave their parents alone at home for their jobs because of which old people feel depressed. Thus, old age houses provides good company for old people and make them happier.
Furthermore, all kinds of health facilities are available in these care taking houses. To elucidate,in old age houses all kind of medications are available,so if any individuals feel ill will be treated well. Therefore,in these houses good healthcare facilities are available. For example, a survey conducted by WHO in Melbourne,Australia in 2019 showed that old people who are living in care taking houses have better health than people living with their adult children.
To conclude, it can be said that because of the care and health facilities provided by old age homes old people should live there

  111. The growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing. Do you agree or disagree.

Concerning the issue of whether online stores would ever lead to permanently shutting down of the offline stores such as local markets or malls in town and cities. In my opinion, I completely disagree with this statement and its reasons will be discussed in the following paragraphs.

Looking at the facts, that many people have been benefited from online shopping sites and, the popularity of these e-stores is also increasing with time as everything is getting digitalized, and e-commerce sites are no exception. There are few reasons why people are preferring to shop online, for example, online stores sell goods and products at heavily discounted rates also, they provide more guarantees and warranties with proof of authenticity if a product belongs to a high-end brand. In addition to this, one gets to do shopping in the comfort of their home, also have the facility to receive free delivery at the doorsteps.

Above all, there are still many people out there who enjoy shopping from supermarkets or malls because they feel it is more convenient than online stores. In offline shops, one can try, touch, and feel the product to check its quality. Whereas, this facility is not provided by online shopping sites even though they have return and exchange facilities but many stores it involves various terms and conditions which even varies from site to site if you want to opt for one.

In conclusion, shopping online is an in-demand trend and it will go on expanding its popularity in the future as well but, that doesn’t mean that its popularity will lead to closing down of the offline stores because they have earned a different level of respect and trust in the market in so many years.

  112. Q: Some people say that teenagers should work part-time and earn money. This way they will learn basic lessons about work and become more disciplined. Others argue that teenagers shouldn’t sacrifice their rest and after-school activities to work. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Sol: The importance of work during studies which was always debatable has now become more controversial with many people claiming that it is beneficial while others reject this notion. The substantial influence of this trend has sparked the controversy over the potential impact in recent years. In my opinion, day job by youth which induces some essence of value of money and discipline like feature appears to be more rational. This essay will further elaborate both views and thus lead to a logical conclusion.
There are myriad of reasons which will further explain this argument but the most preponderant one stems from the fact that working while doing studies can give rise to self dependency in students.Because of this, the teen will come to know about the value of money and discipline which leads them to become morally strong in the society. Moreover, an essence of punctuality as well as team spirit will develop in the teenager.Needless to say, all these merits of in a job stand in a good stead.
However, there are some pitfalls that negate these arguments and which can certainly overwhelm the potential influence of this trend but one of the most alarming ones is that post working hours, the teen will exhausted mentally and physically which leads to less concentration towards study.Instead of giving their all to education, they will feel less inclination to teachings that is really worrisome for their future aspects. Hence, it is apparent why many are against this trend.
According to the arguments aforementioned above, one can reach to a certain conclusion that those benefits of part-time work and earning from it are instrumental indeed. Nevertheless, its potential drawbacks should not be overlooked either.

  113. The healthy lifestyle of a person is the major aspect of longevity. Consequently, it is widely acknowledged by some that for individuals’ health, some incisive rules must be implemented by the government. However, a school of thought is that it must be the responsibility of the masses. I personally think that a healthy lifestyle should be the liability of individuals. At the outset, it is a well-known fact that ministry measures will not be effective until people do not take initiatives for their healthy life. They should keep themselves away from bad things. To be more precise, there are myriads of conspicuous products. For example, alcohol, drugs, and smoking, have an obvious effect on a person’s strength. Therefore, they need to restrain themselves from the consumption of harmful things. For example, as per the report by BBC English, every year, millions of people die as a result of excessive drug and alcohol consumption. Consequently, it is mankind’s liability to take steps for a well-being lifestyle.

However, to a number of, authority can enforce stringent regulations for public fitness. Consequently, to make it possible, street foods such as burgers, pizza should be completely eliminated by the union. To cite an example, obesity and stomach aches have been become increasingly common in society owing to fact that junk food. Secondly and predominantly, speeding awareness among the people by dint of social media that it is really vital to have good fitness. Subsequently, the authority measure seem to be beneficial for public well-being. To conclude, it is clear from the aforementioned paragraphs that though myriad of step’s by the state seem greatly beneficial for the public’s energy.

  114. Given two illustraitons give information about wave-energy machine. The first one shows the structure of the machine and the second one indicates placement options of the machine.

The wave-energy machine generates energy in the form of electricity by using both the air and the water flow. It can be placed either deep or shallow waters.

The machine has a simple design with a turbine and three open sides. Two of the holes stand for air and one stands for water. Water enterence of the machine is faced to the direction of the wave letting water to level up whenever a wave comes. Levelling up water creates an air flow making the turbine work. The turbine is connected to the electiricity motor that generates energy.

One of the two locations should be selected to set the machine up. One is shores having low building cost and other one is open sea which needs more money to install. On the other hand, former setting leads to lower output than latter one.

  115. Nuclear energy is a better choice for meeting increasing demand. Do you agree or disagree?

It is true that nuclear energy is another substitute for increasing demand for it supplies power in all houses. Although the drawbacks for a nuclear plant is that it requires an enormous amount of cost for constructing nuclear power or human power, I concur that with the help of nuclear power, we get energy in all houses. I will discuss both the notions in the following essay.
To embark upon, there are some demerits why a nuclear power plant is so expensive. Although there is no doubt that operating a nuclear power plant is less expensive, building a plant require immense investment such as hiring a professional trainer, seek for a larger space and so on. For example, in the last decades, the investment in constructing a nuclear plant has increased since 2008. Now, it lay under between $2 billion to $4 billion. According to the news, they are expecting that in the upcoming year, it would more increase. Therefore, the government does not concentrate on the development of the country.
Despite the above disadvantage of this trend, I believe that there are some merits of this trend which cannot be avoided. The other cogent reason is that it is another sustainable source of energy that is more powerful as compare to other energy such as solar energy or wind energy. For instance, many countries are using nuclear power plants and supply electricity on a large scale in every house. This not only protects the environment but also avoid fifty million of CO2 emission. Owing to the help of this nuclear power station, we can reduce the scarcity of energy sources. Furthermore, nuclear power does not produce any hazardous gases such as carbon dioxide, or any air pollution gases.
To conclude, although it is undeniable building a nuclear power station is costly, In my opinion, nuclear energy can be more beneficial for the society or country by supplying energy in all houses.

  116. Topic- Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. others sat that there are more important environmental problems.
Few people state that the main environmental issue of our time is the deficit of specific flora and fauna whereas others voice that there are far more vital environmental crises. This essay oversees both of these opinions.
This planet is unique because of its extensive flora and fauna which sets it apart from the rest of the planets. Due to human encroachment into the forests for our domestic needs such as housing, food, and recreation, we are contributing to the massive loss. This leads to reduced density of nature and drives the native fauna out of their homes. In total, there are detrimental results such as endangered species including plants and animals, climate change which results in an imbalance of mother nature.
Obviously, there are other environmental problems such as global warming, industrialization which are causing the destruction of the protective ozone layer allowing harmful rays into the planet. This imposes a problem in people’s lives as we know it. One of the major problems currently is the use of fossil fuels which is leading to air pollution, destroying the ozone layer as mentioned previously causing the melting snowcaps and glaciers.
I, for one, firmly believe that these issues are interlinked and must be managed as one unit. We must impose strong laws which deny the usage of fossil fuels which will stop the further detrimental effects and also stopping the further deforestation for our homely requirements. This will lead to a reduction at the very least, obviously not stopping the already caused damage. Comparing environmental issues is not the way to deal with the damage but taking a holistic approach will help us curb the environmental issues at large.

  117. Men do most of the high level jobs should the government encourage a certain percentage of these jobs to be reserved for women? Do you agree or disagree.

It is a matter of self- congratulation that in this present scenario, females rub shoulders with men in almost every profession, on the contrary it is frequently seen that most of the males working high level jobs as compared to females; therefore, it is generally argued that the regulatory body should be reserve the seats of these jobs for females; however, I disagree with this notion in light of the fact that job should be based on education and abilities. Needless to say, there are any manifold points to support my point of view, and the first and foremost one is that the job should be based on skills, knowledge, talent, experience, abilities and qualification owing to the fact that if the girls have capability as well as qualities to do these jobs like defense related occupations, consequently regime should give chance to both genders to do these career. For example, Indira Gandhi is a well-known lady who became the first lady prime minister of India on the basis of her talent, leadership qualities as well as abilities, and she ruled around 20 years in India. Moreover, another causative factor is that there are highly chances of losses as if a woman get career by reservation not through information and other skills, and as a result, a firm may be faces a plethora of issues like financial loss, reputation of company and consequently on. To be cited an example, going to a survey was conducted by Oxford University revealed that approximately 40 percent community face loses owing to reservation system which clearly indicates that it can be hazardous for companies. Other the other hand, although a number of people claim that definitely regulatory bodies should reserve seats for girls due to the fact most of the women are deprived of the facilities of education, and they cannot get jobs in good companies, administration should encourage parents to bestow better quality of education to girls and make them capable to do high level jobs of office. To recapitulate, even though a majority of masses said that law-makers should reserve seats for women in highly paid professions since they have lack of task opportunities, in my opinion, we are living in egalitarian society in which everyone has equal rights to do anything, consequently business merely based on skills not on reservation.

  118. Instead of revealing the truth, the mass media very often misguides people. What are the reasons behind this and the visible effects on the society at large ?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant example from your knowledge or experience.

It is an undeniable fact that news published by news channels and newspapers has profound effect on individuals. Inplace of publishing the fact, news broadcaster, magazines and e-newspapers generally misleads human beings. Revenue generation and publicity are two main reasons behind this. This essay will discuss the reasons and effects associated with this.

To commence with, there are ample reasons why media misguides mankinds. The first and foremost reason, which can not be avoided, is that advertisements shown or imprint by media. To explain it further, due to greediness about money, they do not verify the truth behind advertisements and publish it blindly. For instance, according to recent survey by hindustan times, in India, 70% publications illustrate in media are not authentic.Owing to the fact that society trust on media, so they obey the press. As a result, community choose wrong path for purchasing their commodities.

Moreover, name and fame of channel is the biggest reason behind this. Due to cut throat competition, news channels desire for their viewership. To elaborate it, in spite of authenticity of news, they broadcast news in a way that people are attracted. Eventually, community learn rumours about different things.

There are several detrimental effects on the community. To begin with, false information leads to disputes between two community. For example, if media publish controversial issue about two distinct religious , it results in fight between those people involved in that religion.

To conclude, mass media utilized their medium of communication for producing money and its impacts on society are adverse.

  120. In some countries, owning a home rather than renting a house is more important for some people.
Why might this be the case?
Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

The surroundings and the place we live in has an affect on our mental health and productivity.Hence people give a lot of importance to their houses and there’s been different views regarding whether it is better to own a house or rent it. Most people believe that the former is better than the latter. This could mainly be because of the freedom people get in decorating their homes and satisfaction they get by living in an owned house. However, I argue that this might have a negative impact because it forces someone who is not well off into a huge amount of loan.
To begin with, one of the major reasons why people go for own houses is that they can customise the houses into their ‘home’. They can make renovations and decide where to have a bedroom, a living room etc which is definitely not possible in a rented house since they are the ‘temporary lodges.’ and it is someone else’s property. Secondly, people consider owning a house as status and they are looked up with respect in the society. This stature is also accompanied with a sense of satisfaction because taking a day off, sitting on your couch while reading novel in your ‘own’ house is a lot more delight than we think. Lastly, people also see it as a potential investment. For example, if you buy a house for half a million today, after may be like 10 or 15 years, it’s price might be 10 million, since the land prices have always been increasing. So this one time investment and make you a millionaire in the future.
Since all of the above stated reasons are well known to the society, it became a norm for everyone who started earning or having a family to put aside some money for what they call ‘their dream house.’ I believe that this can have a negative impact because it pressurises some people especially those who do not earn enough to take up huge loans and pay a large portion of their salary towards EMI. Also people who still do not have a house to their name might be looked down in the society and this just widens the economic gap.
In conclusion, many people are now a days opting for own houses rather than rented because of the freedom to customise and social status accompanied with it. However, this will cause increase stress to people who are not well off and eventually increases the economic differences. Thus an ‘own house’ must not be seen as a norm and people must be given freedom to choose when they want to build a house of their own.

  121. Some people think that the best way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences. Others, however think that there are better alternate ways of reducing crime. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Modernisation has resulted in various outcomes such as growth of corruption and increment in the crime rate. Crime can result in deteriorating the normal day to day lives of people.
Due to the increase in population the crime rate is increasing intensively. In order to deal with this problem some people are of the view that the best possible way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences. According to them criminals should be kept isolated so that they may not cause the casualties to the other individuals and their surroundings. The reason people now a days are indulged into these activities is unemployment and poverty. These major challenges that the world is facing right now play a major role in deviating the youth into these illegal activities. So in case they do an unlawful act they must be punished accordingly.
On the contrary some individuals share their opinion in support to the fact that there are many alternate ways that can be adapted or implemented to reduce the crime. Criminals can be asked about their opinions in regard to the crime they committed to know in case they are mentally affected ot have any kind of dilemma. Culprits can also be sent to the rehabilitation centres in case they are suffering from mental disorder. They can be taught about social ethics and made disciplined in order to make them become the better individual of the nation.
In the final as per my point of view criminals after attempting a certain illegal act should be judged on the basis if their mental wellness and should be punished accordingly.

  122. We have imagined the possibility that life exists on other planets. Do you believe that there is life in the universe outside of Earth? What would the implications of proving that alien life exists? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience

The scientist and astronauts are doing research to find possibility of life existence in other celestial body . There are many evidences which support them .I believe that they exist as several things happened which indicates there existence

Firstly on mars astronaut found footprint of some living creature on their first time access .There is also sighting of U.F.O reported by astronaut while in space . These sighting have been claimed as evidence for aliens visit by ufologists . A science fiction writer Otto binder claims that Neil armstrong had encountered UFO’S during apollo mission .Recently a few months back in February a pilot of american airline claims sighting of ufo over mexico

If existence of alien discovered it would be a intimation to trouble .It will create a situation of choas in common people whereas due to human tendency scientist will be eager to find more which can be harmful for them as well for human .

Secondly as of now our space exploration mission are at there fast pace will slow down because of fear of extraterrestial people

In my opinion aliens exist as there are many proofs that support their existence but if we get them then it would be very risky for us It would be invitation to trouble if we enter there premises without permission than its obvious that it would create a problem for them they dnt know our tendency and we dnt know there nature it may arise a conflict between both and can be harmful

  123. Many countries raise fuel prices to deal with problems of traffic and pollution. What effects do you think this move can have? What other measures do you think can be taken to reduce traffic and pollution?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

Fuel is one of the basic necessity for any nation. In recent times, efforts to alleviate traffic congestion and air pollution which is the major concern of a nation, the governing authority of the respective country deliberately increases the price of these resources to tackle this circumstances.
Firstly, along with the fuel price, transportation cost will hike up side-by-side which immediately become simultaneous with the price rise of essential commodities. In addition, this will ultimately turn to become a burden on middle income groups and poor folks. Similarly, most of the people will restrict themselves from investing in their own convenient rides hence, they have to solely depend on public transport and for this the vehicle manufacturing industry faces a huge loss. In the same way the hospitality sector also witnessed the similar downfall due to limited visitors. On the other hand, minimal usage of vehicles helps the environment to breath freely.
Nevertheless, the government should take precautions to reduce the traffic pollution by taking measures such as eliminating those vehicles which are way too old and emits carbon-dioxide (CO2) resulting in atmospheric disturbance. Moreover, highly efficient traffic control devices should be installed along with more man power in each and every signal to maintain the traffic jams in a structured way. Last but not the least, the common people should be aware of their responsibilities, for example they need to be extra careful and obey all the rules during driving as well as take measures to keep the surrounding clean and calm.
To sum up, upsurge of fuel cost is not the one and only solution, the society and the government both have to keep their feet together to get rid of this hazardous situation.

  124. An increasing number of developing countries are expanding their tourist industry .
Why do you think it is the case? Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

In recent times, tourism is rising significantly and many third world countries tend to expand their tourist activities. There are some reasons for such a phenomenon, which I believe it is a negative development that can lead to an adverse impact on the environment.

The primary source of expanding tourist industry in underdeveloped nations is that this trade is vital for some economies and many developing nations rely mainly on tourism for their income. Meaning that tourists pay money, for example, to have an accommodation, transport or eat , and as a result the economic status of the country will be bloomed. In addition, having many facilities in tourist places regarding hotels and food provides visitors with a variety of options, which reflects the culture and tradition of the country. Take Egypt, for instance, there are many attractive places for tourists, which have many amenities from food to transportation that reflect the country’s customes and make visitors satisfied about the services.

From my perspective, investing in building more places for tourism is not a positive development. when less developed nations increase their tourist activities, this will put pressure on the local resources. If too many visitors stay in one place, they will eat or use water, electricity and transportation, which might get depleted. Besides, tourism expansion will lead to environmental damage. Many underprivileged areas around the globe have countless boats and snorkellers in their tourist areas, which have destroyed vast sections of corals. Thus, having more tourist facilities might lead to a negative development.

In conclusion, many reasons contribute to the expansion of tourism in developing nations but in my opinion, this cause a detrimental impact to the environment and exert a pressure on domestic resources.

  125. Question- Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives.

Which viewpoint do you agree with?

    Solution:

Advertisement is mode of communication that informs the prospective customers about the product, its features, price, etc. The modes of advertisement are print, electronic media, television, outdoor, etc. Advertisement fills the knowledge gap of the consumer about the product. There are both positives and negatives about the advertisement that is discussed in ensuing paragraphs. Let us first talk about the positive impact that advertisement has on our life.

Advertisement is one of the effective mode of communication for the company to reach to its existing and prospective customers. Consumer stays updated on the various brands of the product available in the market and helps to make it a right decision. The advertisement only plays the role of sharing the information of the product with consumers. It no way influences the decision of the customers to buy a particular product. It also helps in broaden our scope of knowledge about the products and assists us in making informed decision. Also, Government and Non-government authorities use advertisement to promote any government scheme and social causes between the general public.

However, advertisement also negatively impacts the life of people. The advertisement always does not state true facts of the product but it is used in modern times as effective tool to mislead the consumers. Company exaggerated the benefits of the products in order to deceive the consumers to increase its sales. In some cases, the advertisement pertaining to products such as cigarrates, tobacco, alcohol, etc influences the people to buy these products which are not at all good for the health and well-being.

We can conclude from above, that on one hand advertisement keeps updated the consumers about the different product in the market and can be used as an effective tool to promote social causes and on the other hand it can be used to mislead and generate bad cultural habits/demand for unsafe product. Hence, it is that people has awareness regarding their choices of the product and making right decision.

  126. The two bar charts illustrate the percentage of people for the basic purpose of studying (in the first one) and proportion of support given by employers (in the second one) according to the age of people.
Overall, the number students studying for career decreases considerably in response to the people getting older, meanwhile those training for interest soar.
Students who are above 26 mainly studies for their future work (80%). The quantity of them decreases 10 percent in the ages of 26 to 29 and after that, the same trend is witnessed in the next two middle-aged people group, when the number was a bit more than 40 percent. And, there is a halving in elder’s proportion to the 20% roughly. Students whose aim is interest are responsible for 10 percent who are no more than 26 age. The contribution of them grows significantly until 50 age, when the proportion formed the same amount of career ones, 40%. Then, there is a boom reaching its highest point, 70 percent.
The help from employer (includes time off and extra fees) for workers fluctuates according to the age of them. Employees under 26 age have the biggest proportion, around 65%. However, this support drops to 35 percent in the next two age groups, when the people are in the age from 30 to 39. Then the amount of aid rises gradually to approximately 45 percent for the people who are over 49 years old.

  127. Question: Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish. Why do you think this is happening? What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

These days’ the product that are getting manufactured are of inferior quality in all the sectors. It is increasing day by day and it is not stopping. It can be observed in commodities such as food, clothes, industrial products, electronic products, etc. The root cause is increased competition in the market to sell the products at cheaper rates. The multi-national companies have also played an important role in dumping sub-stand products in India to loopholes in the system. Moreover, there is lack of strict laws and regulations in place which can put a check on such practices.

The food that we are consuming nowadays is of sub-standard quality. In the era of online food aggregator offering cuisines at huge discount, the quality of food products has suffered. It is apparent in the taste and quantity of the food offered. The ingredients used in the meals such as oil, spices, dough, curries are of sub-standard quality. In the long run, it will severely affect our health and will definitely increase the healthcare cost.

The principal role is of the Government to put a check on such practices. The Government can introduce harsher penalties and imprisonment to those individuals indulging in manufacturing such products. An additional responsibility on the Government is to educate people about the side effects of rubbish products. People are also to be blamed for prioritizing the price of the product instead of the quality of the products offered. Government should also try to provide incentive to the industries to create high quality products by offering tax sops and easing good deal of compliance.

  128. 1. Crime rates will fall as advances in technology make it easier to detect and prevent crimes. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In today’s world, with the advancement of modern technology numerous crimes committed could be easily alleviated. In my opinion, technology did bring about a huge impact in lowering the crime rates.
Firstly, back in the days where technology had its limitation, thief would very easily break into the bank and would get off without any trace. In this generation with the use of modern security system like CCTV camera installed at various places especially in the shopping malls, banks and public places people movement are being constantly monitored. Criminals or thief attempting criminal activities can be easily identified and back traced. Some criminal activities even before they are being executed, the offender have been caught.
Secondly, with various DNA testing, facial recognition, finger print scanner and mobile tracking, people involved in homicide can be easily identified. This not only reduces the time but also money that is involved in the investigation processes.
Finally, with the use of metal detector installed at various public places, weapons, precious metals and forbidden item can be easily detected.
To conclude, with all this advancement in the field of security system it becomes difficult for people attempting or even thinking of committing a crime and thus reducing the crime rates.

  129. Q: Some people think that it is beneficial for children to do paid work, while others think that it can be harmful for children.
Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

    A:
Nowadays, Children paid work is a common controversy in society. Some people argue that children’s work can be detrimental though others like me believe that its usefulness and advantages over-weigh the downsides.

On the one hand, It is true to say that child work brings some issues. Firstly, the most important argument is the health safety that sometimes can not be ensured by the authority and owner. As a result, many children got injured during working under unsafe circumstances, and this may lead to long-term convenience. Secondly, some children destruct from education while they work as a paid workers. One result of this is, they often get a poorer score in academics and are unable to complete study in desired time. Consequently, they fail to achieve the goal and having a bad impact on their future career.

On the other hand, I still believe that child-work is more profitable than its negative aspects. To begin, children can earn more money that is beneficial financially. This may result in a strong economic society. Following this, children can maintain their expenses as they wish. One benefit of this is, they become mature, and it improves their management skills as well. More importantly, children who work in a particular sector can gain real-life experiences that others can not achieve. This may lead to building a competitive career after leaving school.

In conclusion, It is often claimed that paid workers like children are unuseful although as far as I am concerned, its advantages overweigh the drawbacks. In addition, a better work environment should be confirmed.
