  1. Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products anywhere in the world.

Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Globally, thousands of companies are trading in international market that’s why customers have plethora of choices available in market. Folk can easily buy same product anywhere in the world. Both positive and negative development will be discussed in further paragraphs.

First of all, global market through numerous items , services are available everywhere. People have lot of choices nowadays in every single product with different quality and quantity. Therefore , job opportunities, GDP of country, import exports have been increasing on daily basis. In addition relationships are rising with other countries further we get opportunities to know their culture and learn new things. Let’s clear with illustration, world global market resarchers proove that after globalization in the world there are less chances to make customer fool and also 70% transactions are rose after globalization in international and national market

However, International market brings many benefits for country but there are two things which have negative effect. First, multinational companies product are very expensive which can’t afford lower class and middles class seldomly buy this costly things. Second, many local markets suffering from huge loss because foreign companies capture their market. For example, Macdonald and dominoze destroy local fast food shops and market

In summary, I believe that international market connect countries with eachother and also it’s beneficial for customer , they can easily buy any product anywhere and also their technology development, infrastructure we can easily adopt their things owning to this I deem that is positive development .

  2. Car ownership has increased so rapidly over the past thirty years that many cities in the world are now ‘one big traffic jam’.
How true do you think this statement is? What measures can governments take to discourage people from using their cars?

The automobile industry, from the start, came and dominated the field of transport; and, owning a car was considered a trait of being rich and wealthy. However, due to the competition among companies and decreased production cost, cars are being prominently purchased at a higher rate nowadays, consequently, resulting in a ‘one big traffic jam’ as we know it. The below essay illustrate briefly why the phenomenon has come to be.
Without a doubt, automobiles of on the road have risen over the past thirty years and their ownership has increased significantly because of the low prices and rising demand. This private, comfort and luxurious transport system has invited many buyers; but this, cumulatively, build up has resulted in more traffic on the streets. The Prime example being the New York city which becomes deadlocked after seven P.M because of the cars congested on the main highway and streets. To avoid this one major traffic jam, people tend to utilize public transport within the main city rather than bringing their car with them.
Even though traffic buildup is the major drawback of increased car ownership, everyone still need a mode of transportation for reaching their work, home or any other destination. Inevitably, cars will dominate the roads, but I believe that the government has a responsibility in managing their numbers on it. The government’s one chance of bringing down their count is to invest in the public transport sector as India did by building a monorail system for the laborers to travel in and out of the city. Firstly, building new inter-city bus systems and railroad system can, hopefully, decrease the building car troubles, and secondly, encouraging people to utilize this public transport system as well, for instance by levying taxes on private transport. it might prove to be a challenge for incumbent government but still will bring positive results.
To sum it all up, cars, definitely, are going to be roads for a long time until an alternative is provided to the people. Even though, the government is trying their best to overcome the problem by building underpasses and expanding the road width, despite this, more effort are still needed. In the end, proper planning and timely execution is required by the government institutions to deal with the on-going surge in the automobile on the roads.

  3. Work from home benefit only employees not employers.
    Do you agree or disagree.
As internet become easily accessible, it become easier for workers to perform their tasks at home. Some individuals believe that this trend is beneficial only for workers not for professional managers.I largely disagree with this statement and describe my views in upcoming paragraphs.
First of all, needless to say that nowadays inflation increased at alarming rate if employees do their work at home rather than visiting office, it saves huge expenditure of organisation. To examplify, one multinational company conduct survey from well developed organisations who assign tasks online to their emloyees. The result of the survey showed that these companies earned 53%more profit than those organisations who prefer to invite their workers at office. Secondly, many individuals have skills to organise any company but they do not have enough amount of money to establish their business. In case of online business people easily run their organisation because there is no any requirement to build any building to pursue the business.
On the flip side, there is one drawback of doing business online as employees perform work at home but it is not sure that tasks are performed by the assigned workers. To illustrate, sometimes women become the part of organisations but due to the household work they may assign their duty to other family member. It is a great loss of employer because they choose their workers according to their skills but in case of online business there is not any surity that selected individuals are pursue their duty.
In conclusion, it is surely said that online business is a mixed blessing with both advantages and disadvantages if emloyees and employers perform there duties effectively, definitely internet business only create benefits for organisations.

    1. In many countries children are engaged in some kind of paid work.some people regard this as completely wrong while others consider it as valuable work experience, important for learning and taking responsibility.what are your opinion on this?

In modern Era, children prefers to do job along with their study. It is followed up in some places while others argue this as an unmindful practice. This essay will highlight the hindrance caused by paid work in children’s psychology.
Firstly if children remain busy with their job, responsibilities in their initial learning phase they might interact less with others. Secondly, they can be addicted to earn money and can consider education as useless. Not only this but also kids can be anti social. For instance, a 14 years old boy doing paid work in spite of joining school can results rise in illegal activities. Hence, proper education is crucial then involving in earning activities for children.
On the other hand, involving children’s in taking responsibility, performing job activities is against child right. Below 18 should be monitored properly by guardians so that they can distinguish between right and wrong deeds. Consequently, children’s can be psychologically distracted as they perform job with their negative co-workers. For example, last year when I was doing my research I found a boy approximately 15 years smoking along with his colleagues in hotel I came to knew that he was habituated because of his friend. That’s why, children’s must be under supervision and sent to school.
To encapsulate it, education plays a pivotal role in building leadership and developing communication skills among children. However, others argue that they can be more matured if responsibility is provided. They can support their family. To my point of perspective, education is the best way to shape out the outshine future of a nation’s builder. So, government must be concerned towards it.

  4. Please evaluate my below task –
    Q. In some countries children have very strict rules of behaviour, while in other countries they are allowed to do almost anything they want.
To what extent should children have to follow rules?

Every country has its own cultural values that are unique from others thus, children worldwide are expected to follow different behavioural rules which are acceptable in their society. It is complex to express the extent of such rules, however, at some regions, these are much stricter than others.
There is no denying that children are vulnerable section of the society in terms of making critical decisions because of lack of experience in their life, therefore their parents play a vital role in guiding and making them a good civilian. Inculcating good behaviours and alerting them about the consequences of bad behaviour are some of the ways they govern their kids. For instance, while in India, people usually do not call their seniors at work or in the family by name because, in their childhood, they are taught to do so which they follow throughout their life, however, in western countries it is common to call a senior by their names and is not treated as disrespectful.
On the other hand, like everyone else children also loves to enjoy freedom, and in some countries, they are free to make their own choices on different facets of life such as education and choosing life-partner. There, parents believe that the best way their children can learn, and grow is through their own mistakes and experiences. For instance, while in western countries, children usually leave to live an independent life in their young age and thus, they have to make various important decisions own their own, in Asian countries children always have to take their parents’ permission on various life-matters.
In conclusion, in different countries, children have to follow different rules, and I believe it is good for them to be acceptable in their own society.

  5. Studies show that many criminals do not receive enough education. For this reason, people believe that the best ways to reduce crime is to educate them so they can find a job after being released. Do you agree or disagree?
It is often believed that the most appropriate step to reduce the crime rate is to provide education for offenders because this will help them to find employment. Research has also revealed that a low level of education is a reason to commit an offence by a criminal. I do not agree with the statement that because this approach is expensive and chances of reoffending remains in society. This essay will explain the reasons for my disagreement using the examples of two united nations- the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
To begin with, the main reason behind not providing education for criminals is that cost of this step is too high. This will increase the burden on the government’s shoulders. Furthermore, the government will start neglecting the other sectors of society such as healthcare, school- education, and public transport. For instance, the United Kingdom Crime Association consulted with the government of their nation to allocate funds for education in prisons. As a result, other public sectors suffered and witnessed 35% of decrement in their funding.
The second reason is that education does not guarantee that offenders will not commit a crime again after imprisonment. Take West Virginia as an example, a northwest state in the United States of America, where 67% of educated-criminals committed the crimes again after release from prisons. This was mainly because hardcore criminals have no impact on education and these expert criminals persuade young offenders to re-offend. Therefore, it is futile to educate criminals.
In conclusion, it is true educating offenders in prisons is not an effective way to curtail crime because it requires a great deal of money and the most of the criminals resort to crime again after being released from prisons.

  6. Question –
In some countries, employees are generally given two weeks of paid vacation time each year. In other countries, employees are given four or six weeks of paid vacation time.

Considering the needs of both employee and employer, what do you think is a reasonable amount of paid vacation time for employees to have? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

    Answer –
Depending on different nation’s laws, the duration for paid vacation time varies. Some nations allow employees to take two weeks while others grant four to six weeks annually. In my opinion, granting two weeks of paid holidays are sufficient for employees considering from both employers as well as employees perspective.

There is a give and take relationship between an employee and an employer. Because of the hardwork that employees put in their work, the employer’s business thrives. It is, therefore, important to consider both parties requirements when the policies are being designed that shall benefit both of them. Employees need to relax and have a break from their schedule to re-energize and come back with the same amount of passion they had earlier to achieve their competitive goals. While on the other hand, employers bear the loss while the employees are away but need to design a strategy to handle the situation. When employees tend to take a break from work, their responsibilities can be assigned to another employee to avoid any issues in delivery. A recent survey was carried out, in September 2019, in different countries granting different paid vacations, which concluded that employers manage to function seamlessly with some employees being on a two-week leave. The study also highlighted that employees were observed more passionate and enthusiastic on their return after the vacation.

Considering the countries who have four to six weeks paid holidays, have a much slower growth rate as per the study. Also, the employees were still in the vacation mode even after having a five week holiday on average. There was a psychological study suggesting that, once an employee dis-associates himself from work for a longer period of time, say more than 3 weeks, he tends to stick to his lazy schedule for over a month before he settles in his work environment. From my personal experience, I need a break from work once in a while, although, two-week leaves are enough to recharge myself and focus on my professional front again. No matter how long the paid vacation is, I get relaxed in the first 1.5 weeks itself.

To Conclude, to make it a win-win situation, it is ideal to provide a two-week employee paid vacation. Considering the loss of business, psychological tendencies of employees, employees need of relaxation time and market trends of competition, fourteen days of paid vacation is sufficient. This maintains the business as well as the mental-health of the employees who are responsible for business’s success.

    1. Different nations have there own style of providing salaried casual leaves. Few, believes in giving 14 days of holidays whereas, other provides 38 to 52 days vacations. According to me, it should be definitely not less then one to two months duration because one year is long time and any consumer life has lots of responsibilities.
On one hand, along with job people need vacant time to support their day to day chores which includes plethora of things such as attending parents teacher meeting, taking parents and kids to doctor, attending family function as well as visit their near and dear house either in the state or out of station. These all activities requires time and is essential to create healthy work life balance. Recent health magazine had published an article where the survey was made to find which professionals where more happily committed to there work and it was found that teachers are more healthier then IT people because they get more recreation time from job.
On the other hand, any company first aim at its profit and maximum time given by employee indeed generates profit. Thus, we cannot close our eye towards this and need to find some midways solution. In my point of view best way to curb this problem is to allow employ to work from home just for an hour or two during their holiday according to feasibility, making sure that project and client should not suffer. Many guys working from home have said that although they sit for whole day but there effective hour of working is just 2-4 hours. Hence, this technique can be applied to curb problem.
Work life balance is very important which requires 30-50 days of paid holidays at the same time we cannot turn our head from companies finance generation. Thus, work from home with cut down hours can be a possible approach to satisfy both employee as well as employers need.

  7. Question :- In recent years, many small local shops have closed because customer travel to large shopping centres or mall to do their shopping
Is this a positive or a negatice development

Shopping is always a necessity for everyone, and nowadays most of the peoples do it for fun as well. Since the mega malls are coming into place so peoples are moving there for their shopping purposes and that affected the business of local shops and today I put some light on this topic.

People nowadays want convenience in their life and they don’t want to visit multiple shops to buy different categories of stuff. For example: if want household items they need to visit a local shop which only sells this category or at the same time if they want to buy some furniture they need to visit some other local shop to fulfill their need rather than do that they likely to visit one single place where they can buy each and everything which they want under a single roof.

For that need, they prefer a large shopping mall because there they can get competitive prices, better presentation of items, good quality with a range of products, and customer services. Also if they are shopping with their children so they can leave their children in the play area that is only available somewhere in the large shopping mall because this actually gives them peace of mind to shop. one more reason for this preference is that after shopping when they feel tired so they can have a meal as well in the food court.

Although what I think that this is a positive development because you can shop and your children can have fun at the same time and you don’t need to visit multiple places worry about the parking space looking for the good quality stuff and on the other hand this is also affecting the business of the local shops which actually affect the economy of the country because local shop owners having an only way of their earning is from their shop which is now not in a condition to fulfill their expense and lead toward the clouser.

  8. Nowadays business face problems with new employees who just finished their education and lack some interpersonal skills such as working in a team. why do you think is the main cause of this problem and how can it be resolved?

Soft skills not only influence corporate culture but will also decide the outcome of the company’s success. The companies, in today’s era, facing challenges because of lack of social skills namely teamwork, leadership in fresh graduates. Insufficient practical knowledge is the prominent reason behind this above said assertion and timely interaction of students with the industrialist by universities is the solution of the same, which this essay is going to delve in the forthcoming paragraphs with the help of relevant citation and will provide a credible conclusion as well, at the end.
There is one major reason for the deficit of social skills in newcomers. The academic curriculum has minimal intervention of hands-on classes. The education system put stress on theoretical knowledge and encourage the students to elevate their scores; eventually most of the new learners has a perspective that better grades are sufficient to acquire good position in the business or workplace. Therefore. neglecting the human relationship traits which are consider as crucial parameter at any corporate culture. For instance, a novice holds first division in their subjects during graduate nowadays fails to adjust in the culture of the workplace resulting in degrade in his or her performance.
One of the best ways to overcome this issue is to arrange time to time interactive classes and industrial training in the small and medium scale enterprises. This will not only provide a platform to the learners to acquire social traits but will also recognise their strengths and weaknesses as a result they will show interest in grabbing these capabilities and perform better in their career. To illustrate, if universities and institutes conduct skill development sessions for a few months’ student will get a chance to interact with various companies eventually they learn by the skill to succeed in life.
To conclude, because of inadequate perform professional awareness in beginners many employees confront problem of shortage of social skill in them which can be overcome by conducting appropriate development classes by respective academies.

  9. In some countries, young people do not take care of their elderly relatives. Instead, they appoint trained professionals who take care of the elderly.
Is it a positive or a negative trend according to you? Discuss both views and give your opinion.

In the modern world, there has been an accelerating trend of people hiring skilled caretakers to look after senior citizens of the family. It is often argued by many that youth does not pay enough attention to their old family members therefore hire experienced caretakers to ensure their well-being. In this essay, I will discuss both the sides of the argument and give my opinion.
It is observed that the elderly suffer from various mental and physical disorders which is why they need the help of others. It is believed that while caretakers can fulfil the needs of the old people efficiently, they fail to support them emotionally. Elderly hesitate to discuss their personal thoughts with these professionals which in turn, leave them feeling isolated and unwanted. For instance, the recent report of ‘The National Health Institution,’ illustrates that 59 per cent of senior citizens in India undergo acute depression due to the underlying fact that they do not have a companion to share their feelings. Hence, family members can more effectively look after them.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that money is one of the most significant elements in our lives. In addition, a heavy amount is being spent on the elderly’s necessities. In order to afford all these expenses, it is vital for adults of the family to do job which unwillingly forces them to appoint helpers for their old relatives. For example, an average of Rs. 15,000 is required every month for my grandparents’ medicines and health check-ups which is high. Since both of my parents are working professionals, they comfortably bear the cost while managing other household expenses. Thus, sometimes it becomes necessary to hire qualified caretakers for old people to ensure they receive the proper care.
In conclusion, undoubtedly, it is the responsibility of the youth to take care of their old family members however, there is no harm in appointing the attendants. In my opinion, hiring expert caretakers for the elderly is the best way to ensure that their needs and demands are getting satisfied so that the young people of the family can concentrate on their official tasks comprehensively.

  10. In the future, more people will choose to go on a holiday in their own country and not to travel abroad on holiday.
    Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

In a modern world, there has been an accelerating trend of people travelling to different countries for leisure. However, some travel experts believe that a large group of population would explore the local tourist places in the near future rather than hopping around the world. In my opinion, I believe that many people will prefer to travel in their own country in the coming days.
Firstly, going on holidays in your own country is cheap and affordable as compared to travelling overseas. As we all know that many people suffered through financial crises due to the world-wide spread of COVID-19 thus it is worth considering that now budget travellers would wish to on the vacation to nearby travel destinations which would not burden their pockets. For example, one of my friends used to go on an international holiday every year however, this year she chose to travel Shimla- a hill station, as she was tight on money.
Secondly, there is no denying that the advancement in electronic and social media has made humankind familiar with numerous beautiful places of the country. Nowadays, there are several channels available online which reveal the country’s most astonishing sites and spots. Furthermore, the government has started telecasting advertisements to boost tourism. All these initiatives have encouraged masses to go on a holiday in their respective countries. To illustrate, according to ‘National Tourism Survey 2018,’ there is an increase in India’s tourism rate by 35 per cent due to the expansion of media platforms and advertisements.
In conclusion, there is a high possibility that the wanderers will prefer going on trips in the country where they reside. This will not only save their hard-earned income but in turn, will help local businesses flourish therefore contribute in improving the national economy.

  11. Question
Some people argue that technical inventions, such as mobile phone, are making people socially less interactive.
    Do you agree or disagree?

    Answer

Nowadays, wherever we turn our gaze we can easily see that technological gadgets are huge part of our daily life. It is claimed that technical devices, such as mobile phones, laptop, etc., make people asocial more. However, I partially agree with this as the effects on people depend on the purpose of usage.
It is true that in many cases, people live in the globe of tech become more addict on their own devices, such as smart phones, personal computers, tablets etc., in recent decades. Human beings who have addiction of their appliances prefer spending time with their devices to hanging out and doing activities with their friends. A good example of this is that today’s children who are technophile like glued to the screen of their phones or tablets. They can consume many virtual contents, such as videos on YouTube and anime series in other platforms, and they can play games all day. Therefore, they cannot socialize with people in physical world.
On the other hand, it is an undeniable fact that cutting edge technology making our lives easier every passing day. Many beneficial innovations which increase the communication between humans have emerged in last decades. Thereby social interactivity became faster in the world. The best example of this is social media. Anyone who is user of any social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn, can easily reach and share somethings with their friends whenever they want. Thus, interaction between people is enhancing thanks to technical inventions.
In conclusion, according to the purpose of utilization of technical inventions, interactivity vary from person to person. For this reason, I would partially agree to matter of making people socially less interactive. (282 words)

  14. Some people think that the main factors influencing a child’s development these days are things such as tv, friends and music. Others believe that family still remains very important.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is generally believed by a proportions of individual that, nowadays, advancement such as television, companion and music plays a prominent part in the growth of juvenile. However, others feel parents have major role .Both arguments will be analysed in the forthcoming paragraphs before a conclusion is declared.

Firstly, some argue technology’s main purpose in infant’s development is to develop cognitive skills. Watching various sorts of movies comedy entries and reality shows encourage the child to learn, understand, think and imagine different circumstances as a result they perform better in their academic and daily life. For Example, according to a recent poll by Cambridge University revealed that teenagers those having friends express themselves confidently while performing regular assignments at school. In case of peers, playing and performing with them boost their overall confidence. Thus, the merits of this opinion are hard to support.

An alternative position states that parents still hold first place in the adolescence growth as they teach them socialization. Juveniles spends major part of his or her life with their guardians. They observe and implement their habits in them. Moreover, parents educate, nurture basic moral and ethical values in their children. As evidence in an article published in The Hindu in 2020, stated that teenagers residing with their ancestors or parents are much more psychologically stronger than those who lived alone. Therefore, the heightened benefits of parents in life can be clearly seen.

To conclude, after looking at these different points of views, I firmly opine that guardian are important for overall growth of child. Modernization and companion enhances the cognitive capabilities and moral in child whereas parents aid in educate and spiritual development.

  15. Clothing makes people more elegant. For the selection of the dress, the individual has their own freedom .Although plethora of them are saying, may the connection with the people attire and their society. I agree with that because the costumes are reflecting the personality and tradition.
Firstly, culture has a significant role in selecting a wearing. People are using different ways of dressing on the whole over the world. The outfit not only shows the culture but also it represents the social status. Moreover it is varying from one state to another. In India the dressing may be categorized in two ways for instance ,western wear and traditional. Many of them prefer modern wearing. Even though, mostly they choose based on their traditions. It shows the diversity of culture. Therefore, people pick various styles of dress related to their culture.
Secondly, there are some connections between look and their character .The culture resembles the behavior of one group. Mostly the way you dress is the sign of your education, lifestyle, beliefs and prestige. For instance the people who are related to the high class, and one who comes from the middle class, dressed up entirely different. Usually a large number of people are following the strict norms of their community. But the person choosing the modern dress they were enjoying their lives more. Sometimes the trends cross beyond the countries. It helps to exchange the values.
To summarize ,the nation’s following multicultural styles, and If we observe keenly there are some relation with culture and personality of the individual.

  16. Write at least 150 words.

As part of a student social survey project, you are organizing a group to visit a historical exhibition in a small town.

Write a letter asking for information regarding such things as the contents of the exhibition, and the dates of its opening and closing, and if there are any discounts available.

    Dear Sir,

I am writing with regard to seeking the information about your exhibition which you are going to exhibit soon. My name is Insha, and I am presently working on social survey project for my final year on ancient social, economic and daily life of people. For this I will be accessing the first year students of history class who will accompany me.

I have been tracking your website from last month, which states that your next exhibition is going to be held in Madinat Zayed. However, the website does not provide enough information about the artifacts and products you will be displaying. As a group leader, I need to prepare my students about the time and other scenarios of that particular period, so that they build up their interest. 17. Some people say history is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that, in today’s world, subjects like science and technology are more important than history. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.

The technological developments in the world have put students and parents in dilemma to decide which subjects are good for their career. Many believe that history is one of the principal and significant course, whereas other’s advocate that considering the market’s requirement science and technology are of paramount importance. In my opinion, I believe that both subjects share equal importance by highlighting certain points.

On the one hand, history teaches a child about the past happenings like, how we evolved, what is our culture, tradition etc. If this is not taught, at some point of time a person will question himself or others about his past. This will create a confusion in life. Subjects like history give insights how step by step humans have reached to this standard of life, besides stopping human race to commit the mistakes that have been done before. The history about the World War 1 and 2, the Atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, are the evident scenarios that took millions of innocent lives.

On the other hand, science and technology is helping us move and grow towards much better future. Many big companies from time to time are looking for people who have interest in technology, science, robotics etc., and pay them good remuneration and benefits than other jobs. The advances due to this particular field has increased the life span of an average human being, as medicines for once deadly diseases are being provided at cheaper cost. Moreover, the distance of miles is covered in just few hours and the face to face contact with our loved ones is just a call away.

In conclusion, history and science are both of vital importance, however, it should be taught to every student to a certain age and let them decide which subject they want to pursue. This will help them to remain motivated, abreast and interested in future when they choose their career in one of those fields.

  18. Some people think its better to choose friends who always have the same opinion as them. Other people believe its good to have friends who sometimes disagree with them.
Discuss both view and give your own opinion.

Making friends is an innate characteristic of humans. We all make companions so that we can share our emotions, thoughts and even secrets. There are people who might want to make friendship with the like-minded people so that they have the same opinion, while others might prefer those with diversified view. This essay will cover both aspects.
Being friends with people who always have the same opinion as yours, boosts confidence. It gives the courage and conviction to put across your idea succinctly, which ultimately helps to gain trust and acknowledgement. To illustrate, it is very common during childhood to make friends having same opinion, because it goes well with their playful mindset.
On the other side, it is frequently believed that it is good in having comradeship with people of varied opinions. People have different IQ levels and therefore making companionship with them helps you to have a multifold view to any situation. This will help you to perceive things differently and come up with a wider perspective. Furthermore, it will help to increase your tolerance level which in turn will be beneficial for your personality.
I opine that its better to have friends with varied perspective so that it not only helps build your emotional quotient but also enhance your inter-personal skills.

  19. Please evaluate my answer and give me an estimated band score
Question:- Some people think that hosting an international sports event is good for the country, while some people think it is bad. Discuss both views and state your
    opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
You should write at least 250 words.
    Answer:
People think that hosting international sports events will have benefits, while some people think it is bad. In this essay, we will discuss both the views and talk about the good sides and bad sides of hosting an international sports event.

The better sides of hosting an international sports event are the name of the country and the city in which the event takes place will become popular throughout the globe and the status of the country will rise by perfectly conducting the event without any failures. There will be a rise in the tourists visiting the country not only for watching the sports events but also for visiting other tourist visiting parts of the country. Due to the increase in the tourist population, the locals get income. There will be development in the areas where the events take place and the locals get benefited from the development. A perfect example of this is Rio Olympics, Brazil. Where they successfully conducted the event and the city Rio became popular all over the world.

The bad part of conducting the international sports event is the local government should spend a lot of their public money. They should also increase the security for events and provide security for the international players who come to participate in the events. The accommodation should also be provided by the countries local government. Failure in the security and failure in conducting the event will lead to the damage of the country’s image. An example of this is terror attacks in Pakistan on Sri Lanka players.

Finally, I conclude there will be both good side and bad sides in hosting an international sports event.

  20. Wealthy nations should assist poorer countries with humanitarian relief during natural disasters.
    Do you agree or disagree?

Natural Calamity is an act of God that could happen anywhere in the world irrespective of the geographical boundaries amongst the nations. I completely agree with the statement that rich countries should assist impoverished nations with money or other resources such as food during natural catastrophes because it is the moral obligation of a country to help others during such a disaster and also, developed countries can utilise this situation for improving their diplomatic relations with poorer countries by providing them the necessary aid.
First of all, developed countries would sound unfair and cruel if they do not help under-developed or developing ones during any natural disaster. These countries should batten down the hatches to help other countries in need as they already have upper hand in terms of wealth and other resources. Failing to do so makes that country non-philanthropist which is generally not acceptable in society. For instance, United Kingdom helped poorer countries of Africa during the Ebola breakout for which UK was applauded by the United Nations.
Secondly, rich countries could improve their relations with poor nations if they provide help during natural calamity. Since manpower is cheap in developing countries, by developing good global relations with them, developed countries can generate revenues. For instance, recent studies have shown that Indo-Canadian relations were improved when Canada provided financial aid while India faced a feminine last year. So nowadays we can see a lot of Global outsourcing centres located in India for Canada business, which will ultimately help Canada’s pockets to grow.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that wealthier nations should help poorer ones during the natural calamity as this is a moral responsibility of rich nations to help others in need and apart from that they could benefit from poor countries by keeping good relations that eventually will help them in generating more revenues.

  21. Some people think that children who spend a lot of time reading children’s story books are wasting their time which could be better used doing other more useful activities.
To what extent do you agree?

There are plethora of people who believe that children who spend thier time in reading story books are wasting their time and instead of doing that they should utilize their time in doing some other useful extra curricular activities. Thus, in my opinion I would like to disagree partially with the given topic. Hence, in my esaay I would like to give idealogy on the given topic along with some examples.

In this modern world, there are myriad of schools which are still giving their students reading assignments. As it will help them in getting familiar with the words, it can also boost up the creativity and imagination power of the children. Reading stories can also help students learn about the history, culture and tradition of our country. Most importantly, it can teach them the moral values of lives and how to takle problems in the outside world on their own strength. By reading stories children can also develop skills like critical thinking, writing skills and many more. For instance, I read a survey which was conducted by the University of Oxford. In this survey they asked several kinder-garden teachers and parents about their school’s percentages and in the results it was clear to them that the children who used to read books from a tender age were smarter as compared to other children.

Nowaday, there are only few kids who like to read story books in comparision to olden times. However, they like to listen stories online via youtube or amazon audible and sometimes they might read books which contains pictures. In this way, there are chances that they might become lethagric, ignorant or introvert. Well, there were few students in my school who were always reading books and they were not at all intrested in what is going on in the classroom and if I recall correctly they harldy spoke anywords in the school. However, they were having good imaginative power and they not only did win so many prizes in essay writing competitions but also in debate when we were in 8th standard.

In my conclusion, I would like to say that reading stories is the most important in one’s life as it can teach a lot of things in life. There are some stories which can even motivate children to overcome their fears in life and it can also help them to stay on the right path. I think that all the schools should start reading programs for children in tender age and they should make it compulsary as extra activities rather than studying it only in English subject.

  22. Question : Government investment in the arts, such as music and theatre, is a waste of money. Governments must invest this money in public services instead.

To what extent do you agree with this statement?

    Answer:
It is believed that education largely consists of subjects like physics, chemistry and math, this disregards the importance that should be given to the arts. Thus I am in disagreement with the statement above and in the following essay will attempt to argue why the government should invest more in the development as well as education of arts.

To be supportive of the arts is to be supportive of one’s culture, there are innumerable traditions and pieces of art that have been preserved throughout history and stood the test of time. I do agree that public services are of extreme importance in the community and the government should put forward a significant budget for this issue but that is certainly no excuse to deny the sheer salience of art in today’s world.

We as humans, are irretrievably and hopelessly in love with art because music, theater, philosophy and literature is nothing but a commentary on the human condition itself, it provides entertainment as well as deep insight which would not be found anywhere else. It is essential to teach our youth about the arts so that they preserve it generations from now, so that centuries in the future people revel in the fact that years ago, the debate was won by art and it has persevered. We gladly allow the movie industry to spend billions of dollars on action movies that serve no purpose except for being flashy and capturing our attention for 120 minutes then why not support art which tells the story of life itself?

  23. Please, could anyone evaluate my below task?
    Thank you very much!

Question: Some universities now offer their courses on the Internet so that people can study online. Is this a positive or negative development? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Online learning has already started conquering the university world, with lessons now delivered through apps such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom. As any time that a change occurs, it is natural to ask yourself: is this good or bad?

It is true that many positive aspects can be found. First of all, online learning offers students flexibility. Thanks to online classes, it is now possible to follow lessons almost anywhere, with the only need for an Internet source and hopefully some silence. It is also useful in terms of time: while with traditional classes, students were forced to make time to travel for a certain place to their class, maybe leaving earlier in order not to be late, now with online classes they can follow lessons from the comfort of their houses, using all the time previously spent on commuting for something else. Last but not least, it is also cheaper: the only costs students will have to face are university fees and maybe the price of a computer, if they don’t already own one. If we want to be extremely precise, we could add Internet expenses, but that’s it. Students won’t need to transfer if the university is in a different city from their hometown and therefore they won’t have to pay rent fees and the general costs of living in another city.

However, online learning has also a darker side. What students earn in terms of extra time or save in terms of money, they lose in terms of human interaction. Are we sure that interacting with professors and classmates through a computer screen is the same as in person? Not only the communication online is more difficult, but it usually leads to more incomprehensions since it’s harder to understand other people’s feelings and emotion through a computer. In addition, for all of those students that are starting their university experience online, it’s far more difficult to make friendes or establish meaningful relationships if they have never met their classmates in person. If we believe that the university experience is important not only for what we can learn and how we can improve in terms of academic success, but also for the human interactions we can have and the ability to work and co-operate with others we can obtain, then online learning is now the right solution. And it’s also important not to forget the health repercussions online learning could have: is it really healthy to spend that much time in front of a computer? Prolonged screen time could lead to a worse eyesight or at best cause headaches, which even if short are certainly not pleasant. In terms of health, online learning could also lead to a more sedentary lifestyle, which is already one of the biggest problems of the present time, since we are slowly becoming more sedentary everyday.

In conclusion, it can be said that the negative aspects of online learning outweigh the positive ones and thus universities should prefer traditional methods of learning.

  24. People attend various colleges and universities for various purposes, why they are important?
People these days are more fond to enroll in colleges and universities for their bright future because they provide great knowledge and experience about a particular subject which is necessary for carrier opportunities. I believe that it is the common and perhaps the only method to find a good job as well as social status in the society.

To embark with, college and universities runs various degree programs either they are undergraduate or postgraduate which are mandatory for a job seeking person. Moreover, job oriented companies require knowledge and skills of a relevant subjects which can be better fit for a learner and able to run that company well. Therefore, they need a good background from the authorized institution. In India various universities are authorised with a legal institutions because it is necessary to avoid any fraud.

Secondly, they provide excellent environment for learners and make them able to stand with the nation who perform better actions to become an ideal citizen for the society. They are capable to deal with the futuristic problems and have ability to overcome from difficult situations.

To sum up, colleges and universities not only provide knowledge and experience but also build a respectable character in the community which is ideal for development and growing of nation.

  25. Q. Some parents believe that learning mathematics at school is redundant and should not be taught while others believe that it should remain a foundational subject whether or not it is used later in life. Discuss both sides.

Answer – Mathematics is increasingly becoming a controversial topic of debate among parents in today’s world and whether to make it compulsory at schools, still remains an open area for discussion. While some parents think that studying mathematics at school is not necessary, others argue that it is an important subject and should be mandatory. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument in detail.

Nowadays, a growing consensus is developing among parents who feel that mathematics should be completely removed from the list of fundamental subjects in schools, as it has become no longer relevant. They have strong reasons to believe this, as mathematics is barely used by most students in the future and is increasingly becoming unpopular. For instance, in today’s world, simple to complex mathematical operations can be done via computer applications. Therefore, some parents consider this as an unimportant course to be taught in schools.

However, there is another group of parents who strongly oppose this idea and instead suggest that learning mathematics should be made compulsory, as part of the academic curriculum, irrespective of its usefulness. As they have sufficient scientific studies to believe that students who learn mathematics can better understand and analyze a situation and develop better problem solving skills. For example, according to a recent survey, more than 95% of individuals with some kind of background in mathematics are able to perform better in day-to-day life’s job as compared to only 15% of individuals without any sort of mathematical background. For these reasons, the other class of parents believes that mathematics should remain an important subject in the school curriculum.

In conclusion, mathematics still remains at the center of the debate on whether to make it compulsory in schools or not. Although some people support the idea of not teaching mathematics in schools, others strongly disagree. This essay discussed why different groups of parents have different views on whether to teach mathematics in school and provided various reasons in order to understand both sides of the argument.
