Answer

The population of the world is increasing rapidly from the last few decades. As a result, the overall population is over 9 billion at present time, where only a decade ago this figure was about 7 billion. Undoubtedly, the gradual rise of the population is the most dangerous problem that humanity will ever face.

There are several reasons associated with continuous population growth. First of all, the lack of education is one of the main causes. From the statistics, we can easily notice that the growth rate is much higher in poor countries than the rich ones. In poor countries, peoples are not educated enough to understand the concept as well as the benefits of family planning. Additionally, some religious beliefs also affect the population rate. For example, in Islam family planning is prohibited, that’s why Muslims tend to have many children in their marriage life.

As the growth rate of the population is getting higher considerably, the number of concerns are also increasing with this. One of the most dangerous problems is the greenhouse effect; for example, peoples are cutting down trees to build shelters for themselves. Thus, the rate of carbon-di-oxide is increasing in the environment than oxygen and it is interrupting the balance of nature. Secondly, the crime rate is also increasing day by day in populated countries because the governments are unable to produce jobs for a large number of population. As a result, they get depressed and started to organize crimes to maintain their livelihood.

To conclude, I believe if you are able to control only the population growth rate, then we may be able to solve half of our problems. Surely it is the mother of all the problems that are not only affecting locally but also affects at the international level.

  1. It is indubitable that world’s population is increasing significantly, exposing threats to environment as well as humanity. This is the greatest threat faced by the humanity. This essay intends to analyze the root of the cause in the forthcoming paragraphs.

There are several factors that leads to overpopulation. First among all, is illiteracy. In some parts of the world, people are not educated enough in term of family planning, and give birth to 4-5 children without having enough finances to feed them. What is more, the advancements in science has led to the developments of medicine that increases life expectancy. As a result, birth rate is far more higher than death rate, contributing to exponential increase of a country’s population.

Due to increased population, the environment is facing a huge challenge. For instance, the depletion of ozone layer, which protects the mankind from the threatening effects of U.V rays. Overpopulation has also led to the exploitation of natural resources such as deforestation, reducing the amount of oxygen available to the environment. This is turn, affects the human health significantly.

Another major problem caused by overpopulation is pollution. Higher pollution leads to poor values of air quality index making it difficult to breathe for patients of asthama and high blood pressure.

To conclude, overpopulation is definitely a serious threat to the mankind as well as to the environment, and there a number of factors that leads to a significant increase in world’s population.
