Answer

With the development of information technology, people’s life has become easier and faster than the way before. The last two decades have seen enormous improvements in the way people’s lives are affected by IT. Although these developments have some negative effects on society, I completely opposed to this view that the negative effects are more than the positive.

First of all, email has made communication especially abroad, much simpler and faster, resulting in numerous benefits for commerce and business. Around four or five decades ago, when people used to communicate by sending letters, it needs more than a month or two to reach its destination. Thus, people had to face many problems with this slow communication mode. However, with email, someone can communicate from one part of the world to another within a second, which was only possible because of the development of information technology.

Furthermore, the World Wide Web means that information on every conceivable subject is now available to us. For example, people can access news, medical advice, online education courses, and much more via the internet. It is evident that these improvements have made life far easier and more convenient for large numbers of people and will continue to do so for decades to come.

To conclude, everything has both good and bad sides, and the IT sector is also the same. But I believe we should focus on the positive aspects rather than the negative. We should not forget, today’s developed world is nothing but the miracle of the development of information technology.

  1. Wealthy nations should assist poorer countries with humanitarian relief during natural disasters.
    Do you agree or disagree?

Natural Calamity is an act of God that could happen anywhere in the world, irrespective of the geographical boundaries amongst the nations. I completely agree with the statement that rich countries should assist impoverished nations with money or other resources such as food during natural catastrophes because it is the moral obligation of a country to help others during such a disaster and also, developed countries can utilise this situation for improving their diplomatic relations with poorer countries by providing them the necessary aid.
First of all, developed countries would sound unfair and cruel if they do not help under-developed or developing ones during any natural disaster. Infact these countries should batten down the hatches to help other countries in need as they already have upper hand in terms of wealth and other resources. Failing to do so makes that country non-philanthropist which is generally not acceptable in the society. For instance, United Kingdom helped poorer countries of Africa during the Ebola breakout for which UK was applauded by the United Nations.
Secondly, rich countries could improve their relations with poor nations if they provide help during natural calamity. Since manpower is cheap in developing countries, by developing good global relations with them, developed countries can generate revenues. For instance, recent studies have shown that Indo-Canadian relations were improved when Canada provided financial aid while India faced a feminine last year. So nowadays we can see a lot of Global outsourcing centres located in India for Canada business, which will ultimately help Canada’s pockets to grow.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that wealthier nations should help poorer ones during the natural calamity as this is a moral responsibility of rich nations to help others in need and apart from that they could benefit from poor countries by keeping good relations that eventually will help them in generating more revenues.

  2. In the last 20 years, there have been significant developments in the field of information technology(IT), for example, the world wide web and communication by email. However, these developments in IT are likely to have more negative effects than positive in the future.
To what extent do you agree with this view?
    Answer:
The many remarkable innovations in the IT field like internet, world wide web and online social media are undoubtedly one of the greatest achievements of man. While it boasts of many advantages like speed and convenience ,there are many negative aspects also.I feel the disadvantages of these enhancements in IT industry will outweigh its advantages in the long run.

The Internet, social media and email communications have become almost intertwined with our daily life. But little do we realise that we are slowly developing into a society which thrives on instant gratification. As everyone has a mobile or laptop with them all the time, there is a high expectation to provide a response to a late night official email or to finish a work assignment over the weekend. In this competitive world, many of us succumb to these demands thereby spending dangerously long hours staring at our devices. As we spend more time “online”, we become disconnected or “offline” with our friends and family. Prolonged absence of face to face interaction is proven to be severely detrimental to mental well-being.

It’s fair to say that more than the automobile industry, it’s the IT industry that has propelled a sedentary lifestyle. In the earlier days, people used to go to their local shops by foot to get their daily supplies. But nowadays almost all the shopping is done online so people hardly ever go out .Evidently the conveniences of IT , like online grocers, video consultation with doctor, online social networking etc has brought along with it a lifestyle with a less physical movement. Not just this lack of physical exercise cause many physical ailments , but it’s also known to be the cause of anxiety and depression.

What use is an innovation if it hinders the natural way in which humans were created to interact.? As a social being, humans crave contact with fellow beings by actually seeing, meeting , touching and conversing face to face. This helps to build trust and lasting relationships which are foundations for a happy life. In my opinion, the negative effects of these IT has started to take its toll on our young population as we can see many more bespectacled kids today than a few decades before,It has now become a imperative for the adults of this generation to take more responsibility to keep a check on their usage timings and regulate themselves and become an example for the next generation.

    1. The enhancement in information technology sector is increment rapidly from the last two decades and I completely agree with this ideology as well as there are many reason of it which I explained in below paragraphs.
The most considerable reason is time management. That is, by increased in information technology people manual workload is decremented by a huge difference. Moreover, it is become highly easy for a individual to find the information of anything in just a one click along with this which helps in avoiding the wastage of time. For instance, if a person have to know about a particular stock information as compared to find on television or newspaper, technology has made it easily, you just to enter the name of stock and click the search button. Consequently, you get the result in just less than half a second.
The another reason is modern gadgets. People nowadays has get the advantages of many new gadgets which make their workload minimal. For instance, fully automatic washing machine, which reduced the work for a homemaker at great extent whereas two decades before mostly women wash their essentials manually along with this only few of them use semi automatic.
To conclude, the increased information technology sector has very vast effect on human kind. Furthermore, these development made the lifestyle of an individual much comfortable than before. In my opinion also I favour this ideology.

  3. In the last 20 years, there have been significant developments in the field of information technology(IT), for example, the world wide web and communication by email. However, these developments in IT are likely to have more negative effects than positive in the future.
To what extent do you agree with this view?

The world has been changing rapidly and a significant portion of this development is due to the improvement in the information technology sector. Despite this progress many believe that this massive development might result in something negative in future. I completely disagree with this opinion.
First of all, information technology has certainly made life easier, the progress in this sector has made things possible that was deemed impossible even a decade ago. For instance, a few years ago nobody thought of going out of the house without some cash for daily expenditure. Now that people have digital payment system, they no longer need to be dependent on cash every time they go out. Another example how the innovation in information technology has made our life is the recent pandemic that the world had to go through. When people were confined in their home in fear of the virus, people heavily depended on online shopping for their daily necessities. While there was no option to go out and buy their daily essentials, thanks to technology it was just one tap away to get the necessary items in their doorstep.
Furthermore, technological advancement has ensured free flow of information, people get to know any updates from any parts of the world. Whether there is a geopolitical crisis going on or humanitarian crisis, people can be aware of that crisis and stand together to tackle the situation. For instance, social medias and online platform aided to form global movement on climate crisis, countries regardless their political ideology took stunt against carbon emission and citizens in general became more aware of the looming crisis.
In conclusion, the advancement of information technology has contributed in the rapidly evolving landscape of the current world. Times like the climate crisis or the pandemic has proven time and again that this development is going to have more favorable effects than the negative ones.
